I really missed you we just got power back and going through a big mess here with Ida love your work and a huge fan!! Thanks Kim, you're right, the wood needed no embellishments with resins and such. The laser etching is a nice touch. I do miss your "full size" turnings but also appreciate how you have adapted. This is just for a season, you'll have a full blown shop one day. Blessings.

I just made a little stash box also out of some very similar looking wood that was being used for pallets and I just couldn't let it be used for that ANY longer 😂 wish I knew how to show you a picture of it on here , I inlaid some black opal flakes in the top of the lid , I got the opal flakes from woodcraft if you haven't seen their selection , it's expensive but absolutely beautiful stuff , keep on keeping on Kim!! One piece of advice i always give regarding a shop , make it twice as big as you think you need . I have given that to many people and every time if they go with their original size then they regret it. One neighbor started with a 40x40 shop , added 20 more feet in 6 months.

I have that same lathe that you are using. I bought it as a gift for my son because he wanted to try it out. He decided to leave it at my house so now I use it. Long story short. I'm well aware of the struggles with that particular set up. I know you have a really nice lathe in storage. I'll tell you that I modified mine. There are many videos on KZbin for how to. And for just a couple hours of work you can make it a variable speed with reverse. And it's well worth the time. And the parts needed are very inexpensive. If you are interested.
