I share your pain re the tie up. I have a Swedish countermarche loom and also have to get down on the floor to do the tie up. My floor is ceramic tiles….. I have to kneel on a cushion but it still hurts! But I love my loom and I love weaving. I got started weaving because of you, and your early videos that inspired me that I could actually do this. So thank you from the bottom of my heart. Incidentally thanks for the tip re the Strickler facebook group, I’ll look that one up as I struggle to imagine colour on her designs.

Thanks for sharing. I appreciate you. I also lay the reed down to sley it.. I like the idea of the c- clamps. Much sturdier than the old adjustable curtain and drapery rods I use. And even though I have a four shaft jack loom, it's still a literal pain to get down and get it done; so I really empathize with you!

I would have passed this pattern by looking at the black and white photo...can't wait to see the magic that happens as you weave in color !! Happy New Year

Happy new year, Andy. I’m quite chuffed that you showed my tea towels on the loom as an exemplar. Keep up the good work on your loom Best regards, Stuart

Thank you for this video - and I feel your pain. Certain parts of set up are hard on the body.

Very interesting as usual Andy. I thought too that the pattern looked plain in black and white but when I got the closer look I saw the texture and pattern that could emerge. Then when you showed the color photos, that won me over for sure. I've said it before that I would never have the patience to thread a loom and even more so get down on the floor to work. I'm pretty sure I would lay my head down to take a break and instantly fall asleep! Looking forward to the weaving and final product.

Happy New Year! I was excited to see this topic since my son gave me the Strickler book for Christmas. Looking forward to seeing how the pattern works up. 🥰

I have a new Spring II - starting to thread my third project. Moved from a Baby Wolf and agree the treadle tie up is a PIA, but everything else is about the Spring is lovely! I’ve decided to leave the teksolv cords on the lamms, just pushed out of the way to the right and when I do the tie-up, I’ll use them kind of like heddles and move them in from the right (top or bottom) and tie-up accordingly. Saves the time and yoga moves needed to get the cords back on the lamms. 😅

no crawling on the floor for me any more I switched my spring loom for an AVL home loom, all side tie ups ,no more faffing under the loom ,best thing I ever did. I agree it was a pain climbing under the loom I broke my hand and found it extremely difficult, in the end I just gave up and sold the loom.

Happy healthy New Year to you and your family! Look at tie up the treadles positivly. You own a Spring. This is so much easier then tie up a Glimakra Standard. We learn that in my weaving class. Very difficult. I am very glad, I own one, too

@curmudgeon66 • I'm so glad you're doing towels for the New Year. They're less intimidating than some of your other projects, but you always choose great colors. I can't wait to see how this pattern works up. Have a Happy, healthy New Year. Take care of yourself. I'm a little worried about your cough with all the diseases moving around.

No entiendo porque amarran los pedales. En un telar con teclas o clavijas se puede hacer este patrón?
