Not a baker and 1st time making currants roll... the simplest recipe I've found so far and very delicious! Been able to make these and give them as gifts...Thank you so much!

Thanks! The recipe was simple and delicious. Flaky crust and moist filling. The only change was adding a half a Tonka bean and some nutmeg to the filling. Recipes, such as these make it seem like I know what I’m doing in the kitchen haha.

@emilynarayansingh51966 жыл бұрын
Elizabeth Roblyn Hi there! Thank you for watching. You have to ise unsalted butter. Margarine will not get you the same results in terms of flavour and texture.

Hi eatahfood, I decide to try this recipe by hand method, unfortunately the dough was a disaster. It didn't hold together and it was dry. I've done it before using the food processor but I add four cups of flour to eight ounces of butter, it came out just like Emily's one. Something diffnately wrong with the recipe. Now is not the time to be wasting ingredients. #verydisappointed
@seygra206 жыл бұрын
This inner part of the roll looks doughy.......I like the flaky one
@emilynarayansingh51966 жыл бұрын
thank you for watching! This recipe is definitely on the flaky side lol perhaps it was the lighting? I love flaky currants rolls myself!
@Willspeakthetruth4 жыл бұрын
The recipe is fine. It's the technique that made it a little bit "doughy". Too much handling of the dough. You could also replace some of the butter with some shortening for additional flakiness.
