Electricity:
It can be defined in terms of its behavior. It classified as either static or dynamic depending on whether the charge carries either static or dynamic.
Electrical Charge:
Electrical charge, denoted by Q. Charge is the characteristics property of the elementary particles of the matter. The elementary particles are electrons, protons and neutron. Charge can be either positive or negative and is usually measured in coulombs. The charge of an electron is called negative charge and charge of a proton is called positive charge. The charge of an electron is equal to 1.602x10-19 coulombs.
Current:
The rate of flow of electric charges is called, “electric current”. The unit of current is ampere (A). It is denoted by the letter ‘I’
Ampere:
An ampere is defined as the flow of one coulomb of charge in one second. 1 ampere = 1 coulomb per second.
Resistance:
It is defined as the property of a substance which opposes the flow of current through it. It is represented by R. The unit of resistance is ohm (Ω). One ohm is one volt per ampere.

Namasthe Sir - Excellent teaching. I am neither an Electrical nor Electronics guy by education. I am a Chartered account and thrilled listening. I have been thinking for a long time to get some understanding on basic electrical concepts , just out of general interest. These are very basics and should have been taught at a very early age as a foundation. But these are not explained very well and result is poor foundation. More than anything , your body language is so humble and reflects your attitude. Please don't take me wrong , but I wish I had you as my teacher in my early education and foundation would have been exceptionally strong. Can't thank you enough.

Sir, In conductor , the gap between valence band and conduction band is zero .so electron move freely..So they wil be conductor... In semiconductor the Gap between valence band and conduction band is small..so tat material wil be conduct the current semi.. In insulator the gap between valence band and conduction band is very large ..so tat material wil be insulator.... What about above concept sir... Sir you told The property of conductiion is based on opposing property of material... Can you pls explain sir

Everything is clearly understood sir but # The flow of Electron is negative(-) to positive(+) terminal. not from positive(+) terminal. We mention I=current is towards negative because that is CONVENTIONAL CURRENT. your way of teaching is great but don't guid the students wrong. This will confuse them after they knowing Electron flow from Negative (-) to positive(+) அதனால் I = current நெகட்டிவ் to பாஸிட்டிவ் தான் குறிப்பிட வேண்டும் மாற்றாக நாம் பாஸிட்டிவ் to நெகட்டிவ் குறிக்கின்றோம்.. ஏனென்றால் அது conventional current. + Holds positive charge - Holds negative charge
