@@mysteriousweeb nah I think everybody is kinda just missing the point about Jake and yujiro, he kept cheating, yea he trained hard asf but it was different then his training now. His training now was about finding himself, not caring about the rest of the world and what they think. He focused on what he could do and is trying to master something that has never been explored in martial arts, the slap on the butt is to represent that yujiro sees him as his true son just as he sees baki. That’s all that Jake really wanted. That’s why he was able to leave there without the actual fight, cause he never cared about actually being strong before, he only cared about yujiros approval and he thought the way to get it was just to beat him. But it’s more about the core of fighting itself that yujiro respects not just the fact you win.

Also Demon back may not be entirely genetic, the Oliva Baki fight said that it's attainable through a unique training method. Yujiro is obviously a perfect human but he must also have knowledge of this training. Baki used it, Jack didn't

I think you're wrong about Jack dying. Jack seems to making an incredible change that shows that he's very different from before. From how he responds to Yujiro, to how much improvement he has shown vs Pickle, to beating Sukune and Kosho, and to how he carries himself. I think Jack's pretty close to achieving the demon back or some other variation of it.

Jack is actually one of my favorite characters, and I’m glad he’s finally getting a come back. Everyone says well “he’s a user so he’s garbage.” But even Yujiro has acknowledged what I always thought. No one can realistically endure the things Jack has put himself through. Yes he does steroids, but he also engages in insane levels of training with a drive that outstrips a lot of other characters in the series. His skills as a martial artist were at one point on par with Baki, and arguably have now caught back up. I genuinely hope Jack DOESNT awaken the demon back. I hate the demon back. Having the demon back would invalidate EVERYTHING he has accomplished up to this point. It is a Deus ex Machina asspull power up to justify Baki winning in circumstances that he absolutely shouldn’t.

i have said it a bunch i think the final climax of the arc will be both jack using demon back and then subsequently dying as a result of overexertion. i think it will be similar to what happened to Kaku where he basically died standing up. but unlike Kaku he won't be resuscitated it would be fitting for his life goal to be fulfilled at the cost of his life. it would fit because similar to baki's fight against Yujiro. despite victory technically being achieved nothing will have changed in the end. yujiro would still be the strongest creature alive.

I don't think Jack will die, but I also don't think his story ends with Yujiro or Baki. He'll probably be more like Yuichiro, walking the earth and training/fighting others in his new style. I believe that yujiro saying hanma blood runs thin in jack holds some truth. In the future, it might be explained that due to jack's different body and way of achieving strength, that the demon back would simply be harder to obtain and maybe maintain as well. It could also be possible that the day jack uses it is the day he will succumb to the side effects of his drug usage and that using the demon back might be the last straw.
