The updated routine is great. Capping the free edge is something I overlooked to do in the past, but it makes a big difference to the longevity and appearance of the manicure.

Another great, relaxing, and very informative video! I personally don’t paint my nails (I think the last time I did I was either in high school or middle school) but this was still super interesting to watch!

Thanks for yet another great, informative video on nail care! even though i can't keep my nails that long bc of handcrafting etc, i can confirm that these tips apply to shorter nails just fine! One thing that i found helpful for when applying nail polish (esp when you're painting with your non dominant hand) is to turn your hand around, palm facing up for a few seconds. The nail polish tends to concentrate on the center and becomes more even, even drying more easily, without clogged cuticles!
@themilkclub3 жыл бұрын
omg yes! I wonder if I mentioned this in a previous video? because it's a great tip especially for applying lighter colour polishes where streaks can really show. I always use that technique when painting baby pink nails. you get it!

The only thing that's maybe slightly more difficult with short nails is capping the free edge. I'll often get the polish on my skin as well, but I clean it away immediately with a pointed tool.

I've been doing all of this for the last couple of months and i get SO much more wear out of my nailpolish now- probably 3 times as much as I would get with just the colour alone. I touch up little chips along the way too. I go for reds most of the time, or otherwise purples, black, or a pale shimmery gold!

👍🏼Good job. I prefer fixing my own nail breaks. When the nail salons repair them, sure it's strong, but when I remove it, my nail is soft as tissue and damaged. This works better for me.

Your videos are amazing ✨ it surprises me how perfect and nice are your hand and nails shapes, I struggle a lot with the weird nail crooked growth (specially thumps) towards the sides due the phone use :(
@themilkclub3 жыл бұрын
thank you so much! however I do have some slightly crooked growth on some nails, but it's quite subtle. when your nails are shaped and painted you barely notice those things :-)

Another tip I like is using coconut oil and rubbing it into my cuticles before pushing them back which helps make them less dry and easier to push and cut away (I use this angled nail cutter thing to cut them after pushing). I also just rub coconut oil into it every day anyways just to keep the skin around the nails moistured and that

LOVED THIS!! My nail game has been stagnant for the last couple of years haha so maybe basecoat is not something companies are just trying to sell us? 🧐In 2021 I've really enjoyed wearing one coat (mostly bc I'm not good at uniformly building colour lol) of Cheers Up by Essie for like a casual but cute vibe 💅
@themilkclub3 жыл бұрын
omg I googled that shade and it's so similar to the exact polish I use when I just want 1 coat lol! pearlescent and iridescent shades are great for that. mine fav is Rose by Mavala :-) great for when I need something on my nails in a pinch, even if it only lasts a few days
@sadgiraff80523 жыл бұрын
@@themilkclub omg I love it! Will make a note of Rose by Mavala in case Essie ever stop making Cheers Up - like you said it's super handy when you want to feel put together but don't have the time (or in my case, skills) to do several coats 🤩
@lookingatdaisies99012 жыл бұрын
I use to think base coats were gimmicks too lol. Now I use them religiously and get offended when I see a 0.5x0.5mm chip on two nails after day 7 😅
@Everlarklullaby3 жыл бұрын
I never, ever, ever paint my nails - but I love watching other peoples nail routines. This sounds dumb but its like I can *feel* the nail polish sitting on my nails and its feels uncomfortable and weird, idk some kind of sensory thing for me which totally throws me off. I keep them quite short but I do like to take care of my cuticles, push them back and shape the nails sometimes!
@themilkclub3 жыл бұрын
I have experienced that feeling to of being able to feel the polish on your nails, especially if I haven't had any on for a while. you do get used to it though, or even one coat of a sheer colour can be great without feeling like you're wearing nail polish :-)

@maryanellen1582 жыл бұрын
A tip for your nail polish to last longer in case anyone need it: First of all, week nails don't hold nail polish for too long BUT you can use a matte coat after your base coat. The matte coat has a different texture (idk how to explain it, my English is not the best, sorry XD ) and it kinda makes your nail polish really stick and it lasts longer
