Draft Idea: Pick a year instead of a team and you each select a player from that year. You can only argue for how that player performed that year or in a competition that year (e.g. 2014 WC James Rodriguez Golden Boot winner or 2016 Euros Griezmann and 2022 WC Griezmann played a different role) You guys have to be smart with your picks because you can Messi and Ronaldo from any year or you can be smart and wait for 2012 Messi or 2016 Ronaldo. This will also create debates about when each player had their best season or if you pick a player that performed badly that year you guys can downplay it in the last part. You guys can be different and pick some one-season wonders that get forgotten and don’t end up in these draft teams.
