the thing is: "meito" are blades that turned famous for one reason or another. Hasn't it recently been mentioned that the best quality a sword can have at the start is at the level of an O'Wazomono? But the sword still has to gain such a rank, either through the fame of the swordsmith or of the person who will wield it. I don't think that Daz' blades can be a literal black blade. A blade with that kind of status would stay black even after switching owners, but does that count for specific devil fruits?

I could see Higuma being clueless of how infamous Luffy is and disrespects him only for Luffy to brush it off and laugh like Shanks did. Would be a nice way for the story to come full circle
