BleepinJeep I noticed on your Jeep your using some badass King Shocks. I have a few questions if you don't mind 1) Is it possible to build a 4 door Jeep with an 8 foot bed with a payload Capacity of 2,000 pounds that could do everything the new Ford Raptor can do? 2) Who is the best builder to accomplish this besides ICON? 3) What gas power train would you go with? LS3? 4) In your experience how much would it cost to be done correctly with OEM quality & durability? 5) What kind of Mpg would you guess this type of build get? I travel a lot

Thanks for the video, truly enjoyed it just like the many others you and Matt posted in the past. When I was shopping for an aftermarket sway bar, I considered going with the Currie as well. That said I ultimately went with another company basically due to being able to fully disconnect. So my question is....are there any advantage of the Currie over others and if so, why is not being able to fully disconnect better? Thanks, and keep up the good work guys!

Try installing a JKS Flex connect sway bar link kit with that Anti Rock sway bar. Do a base line test of each and then another with both installed. Would it perform better with or without Flex connect. Would you get max flex? It would look funny but in theory I think it would give max performance in flex.

I’ve honestly just never ran away bars on any rigs I’ve had. Usually the first thing I just rip off and throw in the trash.. I don’t mind the body roll the weight is centered down low so not like you’re going to be unstable. I’ve scared some passengers in my last tj wo doors and making high speed 90* turns though lol.

As usual, another great video. Question: After installing my Rock-Jock Antirocks, the flex is now causing rear 37's to rub against the lower pinch seam area where my Smittybilt fender flares are located. This never happened when I had the JKS Quicker disconnects. I even added bump stops an inch taller than what I had with my AEV 4" lift. Thoughts and suggestions? I'm running stock control arms, 2018 JKU
@4WDTrek
@4WDTrek 3 жыл бұрын
I noticed with them, it kind of forced a wheel to the ground more. Disconnects made it kinda float freely while the antirock kind of pushed it more to the ground, almost forcing the flex more if that makes sense. You can kind of see it in a couple of my videos. And especially in the one that will be posting up in a couple of days on my channel.

I don't own a wrangler yet but I plan on it by next year. I've been watching a lot of your videos to see should I go Rubicon or unlimited sport s. I plan on running 37" tires btw.
@4WDTrek
@4WDTrek 3 жыл бұрын
If you plan on building something crazy and swapping out axles and all that as soon as you get it, save money and just go for a sport or Sahara. If you plan on running 37s and want to basically leave the axles alone, get the rubicon as they are the best right out of the box. Little more money up front, but you don't have to add on extra to get locking diffs and beefier axles later on to run 37s.

Pretty cool Nate! What are your thoughts on it going down the road? Does the body roll in corners feel about the same as a conventional sway bar and link set up or does it have more "give"?
@natebleepinjeep9564
@natebleepinjeep9564 6 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately the laws are strict enough where I live I can't drive this on the street anymore. However I've had it on dirt roads at about 45 and it is surprisingly stable at those speeds. I won't be able to get it on the highway until Easter Jeep Safari next year but so far it's great. It's definitely not as stable as the factory sway bar but I'm very much in control at 45 mph
@onetruebob_tj
@onetruebob_tj 6 жыл бұрын
It definitely has more give than factory. Will take you some time to adjust but then you are used to how it performs on the street. How much give and roll is also dependent on your other suspension components and to some degree your tires. Remember, you aren't driving a sports car, so you can't expect it to corner like one. 😉

Thanks for the replay Nate, the reason I ask is I am putting together a 6.5" IRO long arm kit on my WJ right now and upgraded the rear bar to an Addco 1" and used the JKS disconnects in the front. I want it to be stable on the road but also preform well off road. That is why I asked. Kind of a bummer you can't use it on the road any more....

I will say, they work wonders. I love mine. Have about 2,000 miles on them so far. The comfort added when hitting small bumps on roads, like potholes is nice. Body roll is not very noticeable, especially after a day of driving. And off road it kind of "pushes" the wheel down and into a flex. Just about to post up a comparison video of it and you can really see the difference.

Good to know. I have an air ratchet, any idea if a VIAIR compressor would be able to power it? I'm gonna guess that's a no, but in either case I'm gonna look into buying one of these.
@natebleepinjeep9564
@natebleepinjeep9564 6 жыл бұрын
@@macsogandares8383 some air ratchets actually use a TON of air. You would probably need to run one or two pretty decent size tanks on board if you are going to make it work with a viair compressor. Viair makes some killer compressors but a air ratchet is a lot of demand for a 12volt air

Its an older Mac. I've used it on a 2 gallon tank (harbor freight) and it drains it in no time. The Viair compressor would do better but probably not good enough.

Excuse my ignorance. .With that front sway bar you don't have to disconnect before you crawl? i though all sway bars have to be disconnected. I though sway bars was meant to be use for the street.? Somebody 😕
@natebleepinjeep9564
@natebleepinjeep9564 6 жыл бұрын
These sway bars are designed for use on and off road meaning the bar itself has a really small amount of twisting force. It's just barely enough to keep it stable at high speeds and soft enough not to inhibit Flex Offroad. I've been out on the trails twice since installing this and it's pretty incredible how much Flex it still has Offroad. If I could post a pic on KZbin comments I would show you because I too was pretty skeptical before I bought one

To be honest I was one of those people too. I never hated sway bars but when the Jeep had an out of the box lift, things were stable enough. Once I did dual rate coilovers and really soft front shocks it was obvious that I needed to do something. The body roll was pretty bad LOL scares the crap out of my wife! Now it handles as it should while still maintaining and extremely soft ride. There's a reason almost every competitor at King of the Hammers has sway bars!

I never understood that stupid thing what does it do that stiffer springs won’t do offroad. Don’t get me wrong I’m pretty sure it’s a huge upgrade for on road but that’s it. I’d rather off-road unlinked. At first I thought this was like the hub disconnect type skyjacker sells which I think that is a better setup.
@jefflemon5497
@jefflemon5497 6 жыл бұрын
delinquentdesign you lose articulation by having stiffer springs, and you get a worse ride. you dont lose hardly any articulation with this setup
@natebleepinjeep9564
@natebleepinjeep9564 6 жыл бұрын
I understand your skepticism! It took me 14 years to buy one of these things LOL. The out-of-the-box suspension kits were too stiff for me so I got really soft dual rate coilovers. This made the ride much more comfortable at high speeds but I lost a lot of stability overall. When I saw how big of a difference a rear sway bar made I had to check out what it would be like to run it in the front as well. The stability on Xtreme inclines is unbelievable... Seriously dude, if you Road in something like this I bet it would change your mind like it did mine. There is a reason why every vehicle at King of the Hammers runs of these things. You get improve stability no matter what the speed!

Its a huge difference between what you get with just disconnecting the front sway bar. I was also very skeptical until I rode in several TJ's that had them. Definitely made me a believer. Coupled with the fact that you don't ever have to worry about disconnecting makes it a great investment.

The antirock will still make the Jeep ride worse on the street, as it is just a softer sway bar, but it is still worth it imo for the extra stability off road.

The ride isn't any different on the street than with the stock sway bar if anything they ride a little better. You may get more body roll though depending how you set it up.
@onetruebob_tj

I wouldn't necessarily say worse, but it does take some getting used to. Also depends on your tires, control arms and what springs you are running. I actually like the ride better than stock.

I understand how they work but they still just seem like black magic to me. Everything in me screams that they would upset the vehicle by not allowing one wheel to droop independently of the other. I know they are torsion bars but it just leaves me stuttering on the effectiveness of it.

I dont run sway bars. If you drive a jeep like its a jeep not a friggin race car...... you really dont need a sway bar. Why is it that all the yuppie jeepers think you gotta drive jeeps so dam fast and reckless... slow motion and big tires is the way to be cool in a jeep.
