I came up with an idea of why Canvas and Sila came to this island. Canvas may have tried to impress Sila by painting patterns on himself with berry juice, since he knows she is interested in the legends of Takir. As they travelled to this island to start a family together, the fake patterns washed off of Canvas. Sila was furious and just left him out on his own.

Maybe the bunnies are actually working _for_ Takir, collecting berries in the mortal world for him so he doesn't have to go down there himself. Maybe bunnies will be significant for this family in some way?

Yes! And Takir and Vankir would be real enemies! Vankir hates how Takir wastes the berry Juice in paints instead of useful things, and he also hates how the bunnies take the berries for their babies and for Takir. Takir loves the bunnies because they are White and easy to paint, and he dislikes Vankir because his Rain washes the paint away

Shiny Gamer I always think of Vankir also being enemies with melody, his reason being that her fire dries up his plants if they aren’t already burnt and makes the nichelings run away. I like thinking that Splash and Comet are best friends and they hang out with melody, Vankir probably would dislike them a bit for that but tries to ignore it because he has to be on good terms with splash so he can use his water and likes him for just being the god of what the plants need to grow anyway, and Comet is friends with everyone, he’s that one likeable friend that is great

You have such a gentle voice :) So we have thus far: Canvas, Prince of the Blank Coat Anaana, Painter of Takir; their children - Fawn the Spotted Emerald, Painted of Takir and Odin of the Silent Step, Painted of Takir and newcomer Kirnuta, Blessed of Anameme, Painted of Takir Edit: Thought I'd add a bit of story! Canvas walked gently through the tall grass, thoughts of Sila still haunted him. She who was to be his mate and beloved turned away from him, calling him Shunned of Takir, the Painter. He stepped swiftly through the tide pools, snapping up a couple of leeches that swam toward him. Any food was good food, as he was alone now. Moving back up into the grass, Canvas found a few berry bushes to help sate his rumbling stomach, the smell of rabbits and moles tickling his nose. A rustling in the grass made his ears perk and he leaped toward the sound. A gentle squeak made him stop dead as he discovered a shivering young, white as he. Nay, whiter yet, the color of winter snow. "Lost are you, little one? I can help you," he said quietly. "I'm not lost," she quavered. "I've been banished." Her voice held pain as she clenched her tiny paw. "Shunned of Takir, mother called me." Canvas drew in a shuddering breath. Shunned of Takir... what a fate for one so young. A gentle growl escaped him as he pulled the little one close. "I am Canvas. You may join me, as my mate-to-be also called me such and left me to my own devices," a touch of humor was in his voice. "What may I call you, little one?" "I'm Anaana, but father called me Ana," she whispered, turning her face into his fur. "He said I was meant to be a Painter of Takir, not one of his Painted... but mother's word is final... was final." "Come then, Ana. We'll find a place to dwell." Canvas and Ana picked a few berries as she grew, in body and admiration, falling ever more in love with the one she called Prince of the Blank Coat in her heart. A few days passed and a rogue male came near them, bringing danger untold: a Bearyena and her young! "Run, Ana!" cried Canvas swiping at both the rogue and the Bearyena. "Get to the water!" Ana ran as quickly as she could, Canvas not far behind. They reached the water and followed the beach to wash their prints away, before jumping once more into the tall grass. By the time they had found somewhere safe, Anaana was grown, her jewels glistening bright in the sun. "Canvas," she murmured, rubbing him with her face. "I admire you, we are the best of friends. Let us start our own pack." Canvas looked at this young, fierce creature, a wanderling not so long ago. Thoughts of Sila drifted in his mind, but he shook them away. "Yes, let us." There was such joy and love rumbling i his voice. Not long after, Ana brought an emerald eyed young into the world, whom Canvas named Fawn for her deer-like speckling. Fawn was soon joined by her brother, Odin, a child of the deepest browns and beautifully spotted. Ana was with young once more, when there was a rustling in the nearby grass and the scent of someone... friendly? "Please," called the wanderer, "I am Kirnuta, a traveler. May I join you?" Canvas nodded and allowed the wanderer near, Ana gasped. "Painted of Takir and Blessed of Anameme... you are fortunate indeed, Kirnuta! Come, join us and meet the young." Kirnuta came shyly into camp as the sun fell below the horizon, settling near the nests to help keep the young ones safe as he whispered stories of ancient gods, until all fell asleep.

Oh! Oh! I have an idea! You said that certain islands would be influenced by certain dieties, which would be Awesome, but there are Not that many dieties, so we would run out of special islands after not too long. So what if the islands that are not influenced by a diety are influenced by a certain animal? Like a dodomingo island where the dodomingos encourage your nichelings to use nests less often, or a bearyena island where the bearyenas refuse to follow Anareme's orders and do what they want. These islands would be harder for the lone wolves, because they are so wild that The nicheling gods have been unable to influence them, so The lone wolves who travel to these islands wont have the gods to guide them.

yay, a new Niche Challenge Series! I have a couple ideas for the lone wolves: unlock 2 genes related to snow (only for the lone wolves who travel to the icy mountains) have a violet-eyed creature (but, you can only place it once in both of the parents' mutation menus, and they can't have it dominate or recessive already) have a population of 5 or less for 10 days in a row mutate a gene you haven't started working towards in the past (Ex: tailfin, get from 0% unlocked to 100% unlocked) be unable to gather berries, poison berries or stinky fruits for 10 days in a row

I really love the idea of painting patterns on creatures to get the attention of takir, but what if there was a better way of reaching him? If we remember back to when takir was alive, he loved painting on a rock right next to his nest, so what if our creatures could paint on the rocks with mud or the berry juice to reach him? it'd make the rain more welcomed in the tribe while we're on takir's island! :D

uuhhh that is so interesting!!! and for a challenge... lets see... how about trying to achive *absolute balance* to honor the Balance Sisters? Of course the Claw and the Nimble Fingers are mandatory but other genes have to be in balance too the claw gives 2 strenght and 2 fishing, and the nimble fingers 2 in collecting, then you need to get all the other stats on 2 too, none of the ones with numbers lower or higher (I don't think that is possible for hearing though) that means full eyesight, 2 in smelling, 2 in walking, 2 for swimming, and anything else that is possible and maybe for Solaris, if you manage to find an island with enough different biomes, have your nicheling travel them all and interact with at least one of the biome typical things (grass if you don't find anything else) and present it as an offering for the bandit brothers i'd go completly blind and don't look at the genes, randomize at least one of the ones in the mutation menu and only use premade nest

I think for the islands that only have swamp tiles, that's where Mulberry's influence would be the greatest. I think an interesting challenge there would be that because there are no other tiles but the swamp tiles, this cause all tribe members to feel Mulberry's Misfortune, even if there are no bugs present to give them the sleeping sickness. Therefore, each creature is only limited to one move per turn. The only exception would be if a creature had the stinky tail, then they could use all their turns since they are immune to Mulberry's ways.

We'd probably need to make sure our lone wolf has the stinky tail when they arrive - unless the game decides to be really kind to us, I wonder if it would even be possible to populate the island before they pass? Canvas had me nervous with how long it took him to find a partner! xD

I might be a little late but I had an idea for what could be created as challenges for the islands. Maybe you can have a gene that needs to be unlocked before the lone wolf is allowed to leave. It can play into having the diety who controls the island since there typically is a specific gene that defined any of the dieties.

Takir could have a challenge where you have to have Anameme's panda patterns. Splash could have a challenge where you have to get 6+ swimming ability. Melody could have a challenge where you have to get high heat or cold resistance. Or you have to go towards some fire or something.

I Wonder how this bearyena situation is going to play out. The bearyena family seems to be living a peaceful life, just like Canvas's family. But there will be blood if the bearyenas track down Canvas. However, even if the bearyenas dont attack, I guess either the Mother or her son will be killed at some point. After all, for some reason, nichelings tend to track down any bearyenas they see and try to kill them. Something tells me that The warriors will try to hunt down the bearyenas no matter what, even if they are not even near the base

Maybe for a challenge, Canvas' line would have to use all of the fur colors, patterns, pattern densities, eye colors, etc. to catch Takir's attention. However, this could seem a little bit too easy... Maybe all fur combinations? I'm not the best at making challenges.

Rare genes might be a thing, you know, the ones you can't unlock in this biome. Poison fangs/purr snout, scorpion/peacock tail on all nichelings.

So if certain islands are influenced by deities, then you’d have a bit too few for the challenge to be long. Anameme, Vankir, splash, comet, balance sisters, bandit brothers, melody and Solaris make eight. If you separate seafoam and quicksand you get nine and if you separate rodukro and Kuvan you get 10. So you have ten main deities in total, if you add mooneye and cresent to the mix you have twelve, so maybe you should add takir(?) and diamond to have 14 in total. Anameme - one island Vankir - one island Splash - one island Comet - one island Balance sisters - one or two island(s) Bandit Brothers - one or two island(s) Melody - one island Solaris - one island MoonEye - one island Cresent - one island Diamond - one island Takir - one island So you should have 12 or 14 islands Sorry if I forgot any deities

I think Anna got kicked out of her tribe because of her albinism. Like, when she was a newborn, she was nurtured by her mom until she had her first gem. When she got her first gem, a Bearyena caught sight of her white fur and attacked her tribe. After the fight, her tribe thought she was dangerous so they kicked her out. Did I just create a story in 2 minutes? Yes. Yes I did.
