The big magnum is a slightly more sensible version of the blunderbuss. It deals damage to the user, has significant recoil and AoE knockback (both of which can be used in tandem to blast jump, which is pretty useful), and is all around a fairly powerful weapon. It's one of Cursed Halo's power weapons, a rare circumstance of one being added rather than ruined - somewhat rare, but very notable on the battlefield. The so-called 'unmodified Halo 1 pistol' is definitely a fun weapon, and absurdly powerful with its.. everything.. but it's very easy to use all of its ammo just messing around and it's quite easy to miss. Many people throw D20s in combat, and many people flee and get distracted when a rare event rolls, so it's often disappointingly left to be flung by an explosion or passed over in the chaos. Still a ridiculously fun weapon, arguably a little more satisfying to use than the scarab gun, even at a slight effectiveness downgrade - not that that actually matters between those two. The battery rifle, alongside being a fun pun on assault and battery, is pretty good. Managing its overheat is like any other, just without a second chance, and the blast _can_ also be used offensively if you're basically out of ammo with the thing, or just for memes or executions. Wouldn't recommend that, but the sheer fire rate of feathering the thing at high heat can be extremely powerful. Lots of people sleep on it much like the throwing pistol and some of the other weapons, but most of the meme weapons are surprisingly good at their jobs despite what's been done to them, once you relearn them. The AR2 2 is, if anything, a meme over-power weapon like the scarab gun. Much like that one, it's quite easy to misuse it and end up killing yourself as well as your target, though the recoil is indeed absurd. That thing will have you looking straight up in seconds. It's really fun though, just the sheer power it has - though it's practically impossible to control due to how many energy pellets you're launching and the recoil changing their courses constantly. The salt rifle has good range and, importantly, the succ event will usually kill whoever it triggers on, a detail most miss. Obviously it's very dangerous if vehicles of any sort are nearby, but the ability to kill at nearly any long range is quite useful in Cursed Halo. This of course only applies to campaign. I believe the flaccid sniper's barrel state does actually affect where the bullet goes, allowing you to hold it extremely still and hit targets at range, but it's very difficult and takes far too long to do. Does work decently if you're against a large group, and the melee is alright. The inconvenient rocket launcher does have infinite ammo in campaign, as whenever you pick it up it always has a full magazine, but while it does fire two rockets at once it's got a significant inaccuracy to it, with the rockets having like a 15 degree cone of directions they can wander off in. It launching itself out of your hands (at least in campaign, not in multiplayer) does live up to the inconvienence its name suggests, though. I like that its details make logical sense together. The PP gun (solely a reference to the plasma pistol being abbreviated as 'PP' in the code) actually does a _lot_ of damage, but suffers from very short range. It cuts through both shields and health and effectively has a constant rate of fire, though the yellow smoke in the overheat animation pains me to think about. Also you get them all the time, which is helpful for its utility. Good in tight spaces. The bitcrushed plasma rifle is arguably one of the best weapons in terms of getting them all the time and its good well-rounded functionality. The lightning-quick melee, high accuracy and projectile speed, and common drop rate combined are just too good. The snarker actually does quite a lot of damage. It's not controllable, sure, but if you use it in a good situation, firing it sparingly rather than letting things get out of control and keeping behind cover from the snarks, then your shields will take any strays that get close and the bulk of them will chew through whoever you let them loose at, particularly in more open areas. Indoors they bounce off of walls too much to be controllable unless your in a big room, as the main thing keeping you safe when using it is either a height advantage or the speed at which they're launched, which they generally try to continue at. They can't turn quickly so they won't hit you, but will bounce off of whatever surfaces they hit, be it floor or wall. Enemy snarks do as much damage to themselves as to you because of the number of targets in the area and the reckless abandon with which grunts fire the thing - usually the snarks are the last thing standing on any side, because they finish off the covenent or flood themselves. Much like the others, you have to know what you're doing. It's like a real firearm, sort of. The quad laser (cube fuel rod cannon) is really useful for crowd control, as even the little cubes push enemies - and you - around. The big cubes are an instakill for nearly anything, but enemies will active dodge them, however still very useful in long, tight spaces as they only dodge to the sides rather than backing away, and good at clearing chokes for a moment to breathe, as the cube reflects things that hit it, making it functionally a mobile shield that explodes on impact and kills on contact. Unmanagably dangerous against vehicles. The firework crossbow is really useful for its AoE knockback. The explosion has significant kick to it, letting you easily knock enemies off ledges or out of cover. A bit inaccurate, and the fireworks can bounce at shallow angles, so it's somewhat inconsistent, but a pretty good weapon. There are two random toolgun drops, one with only 10 rounds and one with 100. The 100 drop is a rare event roll from a D20 (or from another random toolgun), and the 10 round one is the standard roll drop. I believe the remover toolgun has a similar max-ammo version. The Warthog toolgun is pretty useful in open areas as it does infinite damage, being effectively roadkilling enemies, but with very little chance for them to dodge. Useless in tight spaces for obvious reasons, and the warthogs' spinning makes it a little inconsistent to hit things if they twirl in just the wrong way, and makes their bounces kind of difficult to predict. Can be fun to fill pits with, and can kill you if you fire it at too low an angle. The pain toolgun actually ignores shields, the effect can be placed onto enemies, vehicles, or static surfaces for any utility you want, and it lasts for more than enought to kill anything other than a hunter, which a few more shots will also take down. The time to kill is an issue, sure, but the main problem is that the pain effect is actually an area thing, even when stuck to an enemy (the black potion has the same effect as well, able to instantly murder whole groups), and enemies tend to run at you, making you take the damage too. Can be a significant problem against melee elites. The flame toolgun is.. basically the same. There are actually quite a few bonus toolguns which are very rare, or only available in multiplayer - a flashbang one, a succ effect one, the black hole toolgun (which can be found in campaign), and a couple others. Similarly is weapons like the broken 360 no-scope sniper, which has no scope, has significant actual gameplay bugs, and the issues with moving your view around while delaying your shot making it virtually impossible to aim anyways. A less useful buffering rifle. The TNT's ability to cook off is really cool, albeit not particularly useful due to its sheer unpredictability, unless it's the bigger ones which spawn in massive groups from grenades and the explosive toolgun. I dislike the double jump for the sole reason that it renders your kicks no longer a sneak attack, due to the firing. The karate is really useful though, if you can time it well.
