How does the idea to get 16 companies together to create one game even come about? Unless it was vaporware and got passed between companies until it was done I have no idea how this even happened.

Awesome review, but I liked cursed mountain a lot. I felt like I was Eric. The atmosphere was memorable and made me want to play it again. It was hypnotic. My biggest gripe is what you touched on- there isn't true terror. There is nothing to reinforce the uneasiness of the atmosphere. And all the enemies looked the same because they all had that fake ghost look about them. Its like with silent hill shattered memories, all the enemies looked indentical so you always knew what to expect. Games like silent hill 2 and resident evil 4 have a huge variety of enemies that are different and terrifying.

I say give it a try, think you can get it for cheap now. It has your typical smash the jars or barrels to get items and venturing around the village is slow. But after a while I enjoyed it once heading up into the mountains. Its more of an adventure game with some battling.

It is some gorgeous scenery, but it makes mountain climbing look dull. Would love to go see that kind of place sometime. A survival game does sound fun though. Angry Joe played Man Versus Wild and it's themed around survival, but it suuuuuuuucks... it's at the Library- that's how much it sucks.

Well, this is where I'd love to recommend you System Shock 1 and 2, Silent Hill 1 - 3, Fatal Frame 1 - 3, Resident Evil 1 - 4, Parasite Eve 1 and 2, Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth, Condemned: Criminal Origins, Dead Space 1 and 2 (to a lesser degree), the Clock Tower series, Deadly Premonition (but only if you embrace the oddity that is Suda51 game design choices), etc, but they aren't on the Wi... wait! Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem. A thoroughly fantastic survival horror, it's for GameCube, but runs just fine on Wii. I picked it up at Spoony's recommendation, and while I had to adjust to it, it's definitely worth price of admission. It's true Silent Hill: Shattered Memories is for Wii but... let's just say that in the time I played the game it was more like Silent Hill: Shattered Wiimote. It really doesn't do the series justice, and the single biggest reason for it's failing is the controls.

***** You're very welcome! There's some great horror games out there. Just so you know, there's a System Shock 1 remake in the works (Kickstarted a little while ago), and a System Shock 3 in development. RE4 really impressed me too.

If you want a good survival horror game, and aren't too squeamish, try Manhunt. You can get it on Steam (I believe), or as a PS2 game on PS4.

I know that game's on the Wii as well- which would be ideal... or at least its sequel is. I've never checked on the original being a Wii game. But that is something I'm interested in. Thanks!

Yeah, I beat it. Don't get me wrong, I don't think it's a brilliant underrated gem or anything but it's a 6 out of 10. Could have been better, but also could have been worse.

jadow I actually know of a survival horror game that's less scary. the wii port of resident evil 4. its a on ralls shooter, it far more frustrating than scary because the bosses are so damn cheat

Who's Curtis Craig?

Curtis Craig is the protagonist of Phantasmagoria 2: a Puzzle of the Flesh. He's an ordinary office worker who starts seeing hellish hallucinations everywhere he turns but not really reacting to or doing anything about it, then tries to be an investigator even though he really sucks at it. Then at the end it turns out he's an alien from Dimension X.

+Sir Derpington Yeah; kind of a major disappointment. I found a trailer for this game where people walked into a booth to see some gameplay and they scream and freak out in typical KZbin fashion; the only thing I can think of is they were paid a good bit of money to do that or they showed them something else entirely.
