This year was the worlds i throughly watched from play-ins to grand finals, And honestly it was the best. If only it had crowds and if the production, stage, etc. it would've been the most hype of all time. But still I enjoyed watching it, the games were absolutely insane as EDG Breaks their curse and Makes champions of themselves.

Can you really blame them, DWG was unstoppable throughout the year and the tourny until they faced T1 who exposed their weakness. I reckon EDG studied the T1 v DWG games to win worlds. EDG was very rocky getting to the finals leaving 3-2 bo5's.

Still shouldn't deny their (DWG) dominance at worlds given how they didnt drop a match until semis... its obvious EDG had the toughest run to the finals than DWG given that DWG's most significant obstacle was just T1. T1 exposed DWG, I just think that if EDG and T1 swapped places in finals stage which meant that EDG vs DWG in semis. I reckon itd be 3-1 to DWG and possibly securing worlds against T1 in finals 3-2. EDG exploited T1's initial strategy by excluding out such as Shoemaker's Zoe which proved to be an effective strategy in nerfing DWG. I believe that T1 v DWG semis helped EDG to find effective strats to beat DWG.

The moment DWG lost 2 games to T1 I knew that EDG could stand up and beat them, The Zoe Ziggs draft was crucial for DWG to beat T1 in their G5. Stealing the zoe pick definitely reduced DWG's poke. Overall the best worlds since 2016.

yes, this might sound copium but i think t1 exposed dwg and forced dwg's secret picks so edg came more prepared, IMO ghost's ziggs was only so effective vs t1 because of showmaker's zoe, the bubble plus inferno bomb combo is obnoxious. and looking now at the replay, showmaker actually choked, damwon still have a chance to turn game 5 around, 6k gold deficit, they've pushed up to the inhibitor towers but maybe nerves got to him, he zhonya'd when he's outside rakan's W, the rest of dwg was forced to form a perimeter to ensure he can flash back to them but this opened an opportunity for flandre to hit so much people with the maelstrom. if showmaker just flashed straight out of viper's range and away from rakan maybe they could've positioned better for the clash

Want to say calling snake crappy is abit over an overstatement, they were one of the best teams in the league multiple times, usually falling just short of qualifying to worlds, in the west that sounds really bad, you must be so shit, etc etc, but the LPL has always been a league of multiple strong teams, instead of just a couple of giants winning year on year, edg and RNG has been exceptions but still is far below the domestic dyansties we see in other major regions. @@sharpiefumes coming from a t1 fan, the difference between jiejie's and oner's jarvan is astronomical. you can feel the confidence on jiejie when engaging. on a side note, i think edg will be 3-0 by dwg if t1 didn't push them to game 5 to expose khan, canyon and ghost weakness. i still believe ghost's ziggs was strong only because of bubble + inferno bomb combo, it's very hard to counter especially when showmaker keeps landing them

I attribute T1's jarvan diff to them developing out of a traditional chess-paced LCK mentality vs the typically scrappy LPL teamfighting norm. In situations where the split-second call by jarvan to drop the thunderdome wins the entire fight, LCK squads fall short from pulling the trigger.
