The spell is a DoReMi reference and I laughed out loud, that was enjoyable and that small reference made my day somehow

This game really does make the rounds, much like the game series it resembles. The first time I watched a playthrough was a couple years ago (I believe it was just a game jam game at the time). Then Manly did a playthrough of it well over a year ago. And now Chris plays it. The really bizarre part? Each time someone I follow plays the game, the Steam page has been rebooted so all the old reviews are gone and the release date has been updated. On the steam page, it literally says it was released on 7 March, 2024... but Manly's video was dated 28 November, 2022 and links to the same Steam page (yes, I actually went back and checked to ensure it wasn't just the Mandela Effect). The really odd thing is that the only major difference with this "new release" is that the ending cutscene was changed. In the older version, Umi becomes possessed at the end and suggests they don't enter the house. Also, they were buying the house, not going to the beach in the older version, but literally all other dialogue and gameplay is identical. Not exactly worth rebooting the Steam page for, and I kind of wonder if there was some reason they changed the ending - and if that had to do why they redid the Steam page. Such a big mystery for such a small game...

I had a look a the Steam page, and apparently the game was just rereleased a couple weeks ago as if it was brand new. Everyone else I know of either played it when it was part of a jam (I think it was in Itch at the time) or when it was released on Steam back in 2022. I wonder if there's still a way to get the older ending or if it was completely replaced.

Edit: Or the ending we saw was actually the end of his second run. The Steam reviews mention needing to replay it to see everything, which I guess is just this slightly different ending?

😍😂😂 Oh Lordy! Dental Rental just disappeared again and Chris has me rolling!! 😂 .... some time later - this game is HILARIOUS! It's almost as if the dev watched Chris and thought, "Hey. This guy is a lot of fun. I think I'll write a game using his style for a little white bunny!" "The table is floating... okay, fair enough." I can only come back and watch the game in bits and pieces, but I hope it's a lo-o-ong one.😂 Sigh. Dammit.

I really liked that! it was the perfect mix of dark and cute. I feel like it would make a nice...dollhouse set? Like, a toy house mixed with a puzzle box. You get the cabin (fit with decorations), Suzuki, family, rentral man, and a mysterious black bunny. Batteries not included.

The guy in the house was stuck there and the only way to get out is he had to trick her into doing the ritual, and in the end her eyes changed which meant he also took over her body

I do like this but, I just feel like there could be more. It doesn't necessarily need to be hours long but the dlc for it has a story I wish they'd actually incorporated into the game more. It's a support the team zine, a short story that gave me House of Leaves vibes. Also a threat, the whole hiding spot tease made me hopeful shadowy eldritch bunny could actually be a danger instead of just ooo spooky bun. I hope they keep expanding on it.

The old/possibly bad version (this is a rerelease) of the ending had many people theorizing that the Dental Rental Man had tricked Umi into swapping bodies. The portraits of the angry man (the rental man) and the woman behind bars (Umi, now trapped) is what supported that theory as well as Umi's facial expression looking like the Man's at the end. In the other ending it starts when they've arrived at the cabin and the mother is asking "Umi" to go into the house. "Umi" says they shouldn't go in there. Dunno if it's the actual intended message but it's an interesting idea all the same. Though, personally I'm disappointed there wasn't actually a threat, which they teased with the hiding spot remark.
