so many staples of modern hip-hop culture came from OF and performances like this. The balaklavas, blending elements of metal/punk/hardcore and horror, supreme, "raging" and so much more. It's funny to see stuff like new rappers who embrace screaming get told they're biting 69 or wearing balaklavas and getting told they're biting shiesty but OF was doing this shit a decade ago.
@DirtCheapFU Жыл бұрын
Not really. They, OF, were doing their own thing, but people before them were doing, wearing and presenting the same imagery. Rage Against the Machine. Ice T, old Ice T. Cop Killer Ice T. He rapped with a metal band and DJ. Then theres M.O.P. they rapped over punk, as Mashed Out Posse, before they went full steam hip hop/rap. OFWGKTA just did it better and stuck around. Mostly... MellowHype is still one of my favorite albums.
