It was already mostly complete and the producer who completed it followed his notebook. The album also wouldn’t have been released without the approval of his mom and brother, the controllers of his estate. They have denied any more music being released, aside from Maclib (his collab album with Madlib)

This is wild!!!! It sucks that Artist’s are constantly taken advantage of I am appalled at this and I am going to do everything in my power to create an independent label that treats its Artists with respect and value!!!

Was crazy more than any of this is how many rappers this video show me that I forgot died even more crazy than that. We have so many examples of if you follow a certain blueprint, you could die, but everyone’s still making the same exact mistakes, releasing the same spin the Block records. It’s like they think they have plot armor in a good anime.

Labels do not want you to die in 2023. They may make more on album sales and streams but you can’t tour if you are dead.

Shoot Should of been tlk about not just rap but the other genres From Country, rock and R&B why so many of them were getting killed in mysterious Car wrecks , Helicopter and plane crashes since the 50's - presentex when rock country band lynard skinner died in tht plane crash the lable made so much money and the after death album went achieved multi-platinum

I grew up in the hiphop/hood realm.Now as a ghetto Investor here who’s been flipping mobile homes and other properties it makes sense to protect a investment 😅 at any cost,everyone does it. I personally see how poor folks get ripped off by higher income people do to lack of knowledge.Now I personally see why black culture loves their music and protects it.

Spotify's algorithm also crawls the internet for data - so if there is an uptick in articles about a person (ie if they die), the same thing happens on Spotify.... not sure if this is true for Apple Music

Why do we always put the cards in these people's hands. I taught they are investors, why can't the artist draft the contract or get a lawyer to draft the contract the way they want and send to the labels to review and sign must the labels always be the ones drafting the contract. It's high time we understand we're the asset and they're just investors.

Because for every one artist who can do that and challenge the system... someone less capable will take the deal for less diy work and an instant ladder to the top. Its not that people don't know how, its that enough people don't want to suffer a little to get a bigger slice of the pie at the end... they'll take the scraps so long as they get to eat and indulge right now.

You can have your own lawyers but the game is the game and they are still the ones giving you money, therefore they have all the power and way longer money than you to get the best to challenge your contract you draft
