Vintage LP stove adapter

As a followup to my last video, Ron, who sells the LP adapters contacted me and asked if I wanted another one for free. I decided that this warranted another video so I pulled out my Prepo LP stove. Disaster struck! The Prepo had a nearly full canister of LP on it already. Those old LP cans can't be removed without losing the fuel. What to do? Fortunately, the Coleman community answered my call and buddy Sean came through with a stove for me to use.
I actually shot this video back in January and just now got to editing it, sorry for the delay. I've got some more good stuff queued up for you, hope to get it out soon.

You are hilarious and adorable. Plus I learned how to get my cute old stove I got from an auction years ago working when there is a lengthy power outage, like the one we had last night until late this afternoon, after a windstorm. My 83 year-old father-in-law said to me, while I was getting the wood stove going to keep him warm since he doesn’t have any extra fat on his bones anymore, that he missed having the espresso I make for us in the mornings. I mean, sure, we can wait it out, or go into town for coffees and/or something to eat, but it would be kind of fun to feel all resourceful. I’ll have to get me one of those adapters asap.

I really like having this stove around, it doesn't make any smell so it's nice to use in the house. It's come through making coffee a couple times during power outages.

love those stoves. i have found a company who makes fuel canisters that are the same dimension as the old original cans. hope it works i haven't received it yet and if it doesn't work its only 8 dollars.

I just scored the exact same stove that actually had a full can still installed! I took it out and it leaked until empty. Now I need an adapter.

I've *heard* of people refilling the cans with butane. It could be dangerous which is why I haven't made a video but it can be done.

I almost bought one of those pink ones. Just couldn't pull the trigger on it. Do you do any of the old nickle plated Coleman's with the mica windows? Replacing the mica has kept me from restoring them to good working condition.

If you leave valve on the stove open all the way and use the Lindal valve to control the gas flow you can dispense with the chain.

The chain is there in case I knock the bottle or the stove. The adapter should stay put against the pressure of the gas, its got an o-ring inside to seal with. I'm more worried about moving things around by accident.

@@LanternLabs I built a hose like that myself for my Hank Roberts Mini Mark III. If I don't open the stove control all the way and use the regulator on the can end it will blow off at the stove from the pressure in the line. Otherwise it works great.

It should work fine, the Prepo actually has a better mounting system I think.

You're somewhat at the whim of the market I'm afraid. I found this adapter by searching for a lantern lp adapter. These aren't available in conventional stores so you need to wait for someone to make one or figure out how to make it yourself.

Bought this same stove a few years ago for 5 dollars at a yard sale. Came with an empty can, I scored 4 new cans of fuel at a car show... 50 bucks for all 4 tho 😨
