Hi Mr Woo! I love your videos so much, I've been going through them all recently! However, in this video I am struggling to see why y=x is an asymptote. I know this is probably something simple that I am overlooking. Thanks again for all of the videos!

It's a slant asymptote -- notice the numerator has a higher order than the denominator. In fact we can rewrite this function as y = x + 1/x. So as x --> infinity, the term 1/x gets vanishingly small and the function behaves like y = x. You can search "slant asymptote" for more examples.
