What's surprising is that she sings a low alto line here (as a tenor, I can sing with her). Female rock or pop singers are almost always in the high female register. This low (but very clear and both strong and sensitive) voice creates some very unusual tension. Great.

We saw Curved Air, A Band Called O and Brand X at The Roundhouse, then WALKED to Charlton FC to sleep, (we never slept) on the pavement, overnight waiting to see The Who, Little Feat, Alex Harvey et al. You try telling the kids of today that. They won't believe you, especially if you didn't record it on your stoopid phone. Lol.

@Bevsworld04 Жыл бұрын
@bobair2 to me, the problem is the music itself. It's very "fake" (I guess), very little instruments, just synthesised through a computer, and there seems to be a lot less feeling within a song. They've become a lot less complex and less interesting to listen to, and the bit of good music that still comes out is suppressed because it isn't marketable anymore

Loved this band for nigh on 40 years and still dig them today! Even had the pleasure of meeting Sonja at an after show at clumber park nr Worksop in 2011 and got her autograph too ! Would’ve loved to chatted more to her about current affairs and the state of the world! Hope to see them on tour soon

Brilliant! The first single I ever purchased together with my friend and future Best Man Marcus Hanton. RIP Marcus.

I saw Curved Air in 1973 and I saw Sonja Kristina with another band in 1990. She’s talented and gorgeous with it.

I remember I had the LP " Curved Air" which featured this track. It had a picture of a Tiger Moth on the cover. It was a marvellous record!

Amazingly influential, I can pick out quite a few elements of this that'd be quite at home in the 80s & 90s.
