It's a honor and a privilege to learn from your videos. Please take time to do a video and introduce your self on camera and share your story with us. My grandfather's and elder relatives were some of my dearest teachers. I'm from a tiny farming town in Idaho. Grew up 100 percent farmer do it yourself stuff. making tools, equipment, and doing things much the way the early pioneers relatives, and my pass down legacy was is VERY dear to my heart! Now days, the generations are starved for the DIY stuff that many that learned this way tested and proven methods from the depression Era and even older are prepping us all for what many of us can feel in our bones in the economy coming. We all got a taste of it with the Bush Era gas prices and war crashing the economy a few times. This knowledge pass down is appreciated by the EDUCATED and MATURES viewers. Please, do a Biography and share your story behind these amazing skills, trades, and tactics. And may I add, THANK YOU for sharing these!!

Thank you Michael for your lengthy (and flattering) comment. Unfortunately however, I'm not envisioning doing an autobiography as to do it fully would take nothing short of a book, and I simply don't have the time or ability to do that. However I'm very happy to hear that you're also the DIY type, ('one of us'), and one who likes to pass on dying skills to the younger generations. That's all good, and it's positive comments like yours that will help encourage me to make some more videos. I'm glad you're enjoying what I do and that you think the younger folks might be learning something from these videos.. Thank you again.

Thank you for doing this video. Your tool is amazing. I have needed to bend a curved piece on sheet metal several different times in the past. Now I hope I can make one of your amazing tools for my self.

hi Brian, nice work... I saw a tool similar to this 30 years ago...a body man friend had it...it was about 1/3 the size of yours and had lightly knurled rollers , at least one set driven by turning a bolt head...it could be clamped on to a radiused wheel well opening and would form a 90 degree flange by turning the bolt head...i sure wish I had paid more attention to how it was made because I could sure use one now...God bless the good...doug (kanada)

Thanks for interesting response, Doug. Have never seen anything like the one you describe, but it would have been useful, even though it might have been slow.

Hi Brian, can you think of a small hand tool to make a 90 bend in aluminum sheet? Can use a brake lathe but too big to tranport when only have one window to wrap. Thank you

Sorry, Alejandro, I did not make plans (other than a sketch on a piece of paper) when I made it. I just designed it around the bearings, and bits & pieces, etc., that I had in my workshop. Thanks a lot for the positive comment.

Ok, No Worries , I am in West London , do you have any plans for these or the bearing sizes basically dimensions etc..., its a nice tool to make some panels , rather than banging it out , I saw something like yours but it could be extended for more depth, any way it a great product , Good Luck mate and thanks for answering

O.k., Rusty Benz, here are a few basic dimensions :- The block is 3" x 2 5/8"x 2" ; The 3 larger bearings are 40 x 17 x 12 mm wide ; The 4 small ones are 22 X 8 x 7 mm wide; The small bearings are at 2 1/8" centres. Hope this goes some way to helping you.

hii Brian, How that 2 bearing rollers able to perform bend ? i just don't get it.. can you enlighten me pls ? thanks andrew
@confabrication
@confabrication 8 жыл бұрын
I'll try, Andrew, (Hallelujah Alpha Omega To the Top). Imagine the rollers were two square blocks of steel. You press upwards and a bend is formed. The rollers just make this process continuous. I can't think of any other way of explaining it, but I hope this will help.

Thanks a lot for favourable comments, PIGEON, but I only make tools like this for my own use and not for sale - sorry. I post these videos in the hope that they might help someone to make something similar themselves, just as I myself have been inspired to make some things from videos posted by others on KZbin.
