So I've been watching this deck you've been building overlooking the sound. Another "instangrammer" asked you how long you've been working on this deck in particular. I'm also curious since this is such a labor intensive process with a deck that's so intricate in design and requires so much offsite work as well (bending of materials). How many days / hours do you have invested at this point. I'll speak for the rest, we're all curious.

After you heat and bend the boards, then go to install, do the boards have much play? To try to bend and pull tighter if need be? Or is it that you have to nail the jig and make the treads fit that?

Give the Even Spacer module a try on Whitmer Decks Field Tools to come up with an evenly spaced layout. Just search for Whitmer Decks Field Tools on Google to find the free tool. There is also a link to it on the home page of the Whitmer Decks website. Gives a nice layout list in fractions. You can choose feet and inches or inches only in the settings. It will even speak the mesaurements to you for the layout.

It looks like 25-30% of that lower deck space is eaten up with stairs. I dunno about that..
