I think the only feasible scenario where you would be struck like this is if your assailant and you were on a submarine and he hits a one-in-a-million shot down a pipeline. At that point, it doesn't matter how wounding the bullet actually is, you die out of respect.

I remember years ago my friend Gus an I got to playing with our 357 Magnums to see how little powder was needed to shoot a bullet. We got it to 3-4 grains of powder. We were shooting in the garage at paper targets. It was soooo slow we could easily see the round which we reused numerous times. We debated if we could catch the bullet with a baseball mitt. We weren't that dumb.

Only problem i see is that those pipes will work both ways, if the bad guy has a firearm, he can simply return fire through the same pipes, which then had me thinking, have some U bends on standby that he can plug the pipes with in the event it looks like they will try to fire up the pipe and have the other end pointed at the exact same position, you could effectively make the bad guy shoot himself 😂😂😂

Thats actually a helpful illustration showing that bullets will follow the path of least resistance, not necessarily straight. Explains how a lower velocity bullet (like a .22 LR) could mess you up if you get hit with it and it starts going wonky directions inside.

Sadly with the current translucent materials, unless he had a custom set up made from lab made corundum (sapphire basically) or a similar material it would be nearly impossible. In theory though if you proved that it always took the same path you could replace the parts of the tube that are not impacted with transparent materials but leave the impact like metal... but that would be far more dangerous. One could attempt to do it with acrylic pipes, however the impact and friction traction relationship of it would likely cause blowouts. Namely transparent materials tend to have harmonic resonant shatter points.

Noah W set up the pipes with t or y intersections with flaps in them so that if you fire outward they always go out the hole, but if they fire inwards it always goes around a loop and either back out the same pipe or shoots down from above on the secondary track
