Thanks for sharing! If you're looking for a good place to live in South America, I recommend Florianopolis (Brazil). It's a sub-tropical island right at the Atlantic coast in the South of Brazil, connected to the mainland by a Golden Gate-like bridge. It has mountains and a large lagoon in the center of the island which is great for wind- and kitesurfing, it has a sweet water lake and is surrounded by many beaches, which each have their own unique vibe, several are excellent for surfing and one place (Joaquina Beach) has some large dunes that also offer sand boarding. You can enjoy many beautiful trails sprinkled all over the island.

Another good one. I really feel like I missed out on not going to Machu Picchu and Cusco 10 years ago. Great to see there are other less touristed places nearby worth visiting. Looks like an interesting place to try for a week or so. The temperatures would be too extreme for us also to spend too much time there. Thanks!

Honestly, if you really wanted, a whole month might be worth it. There is that much to do.
