The home of the lakotas, the proudest warriors, Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse fight for their wives and the children and they lost all. Burry my heart at wounded knee. 1890 all was over. I love the lakotas and their nokota horses, ever.❤

My soul was born in the Black hills. I started my life on Prince Creek just above stockade lake in Little valley just over the hill. Your videos have just brought out every awesome memory of the Black hills. I've never seen better. My grandfather started the calamity peak motel and was a foreman for the CC's that built the game Lodge, the caretaker Lodge and many other Rock buildings on the park. I pray you are both blessed and I believe you are the second video on the Park is as good as I've ever seen. God bless and keep it up❤

Wow! That is so awesome! That Black hills country is sure special. We already can’t wait to go back 😊 It’s so cool that your grandfather worked in those incredible stone buildings. That’s something to be proud of, for sure! Thank you so much for watching and taking time to leave such a nice comment. God bless you as well 😊

Loved the ride-along. Loved your mules, so sure-footed and beautiful. Visited Custer State Park a couple of years ago and loved seeing the bison, prong horned deer and the prairie dogs. Look forward to another of your adventures.

Great show. You guys are on it. The story of the mule and all the adventures you can have with them has been missing from the video and documentary world. Congratulations and keep it up. I’ve spent a lot of time in those hills. The facility in Custer looked really nice. Due south of Custer at Fort Robinson State Park near Crawford NE is a place you should ride next time you get that far East.

I just rewatched this video and I was wondering what the contraption at 1:02 is for. My guess is it is used for haying, but it’s only a guess.

Oh yeah! You nailed it. It’s a hay slide… I don’t know exactly how it works, but I’m pretty sure you can use draft animals, and somehow make giant stacks of hay with that thing… I’d love to see one in use some day 😊

@@MTN_BUILT I'm a core rider in the park for the buffalo Roundup. Getting them gathered up to go in the smaller pasture for the actual roundup is alot more fun than the big event where everyone watches. That fire trail you were on, fisherman flats. We had a couple stubborn cows not wanting to go where we wanted them to go. So fast hard riding through that area. It's fun

Great video, is this Frenchmans Campground Primative? Also on another video you spoke about one of your mules being hard mouthed when you got it. I have a hard mouthed mule and would love to know how you softened yours up?
@MTN_BUILT
@MTN_BUILT Жыл бұрын
That campground actually has showers and hookups for trailers… it’s really nice 😊 Getting one soft that has already learned to brace is a long, slow process (at least for me). But the best way to obtain softness is to always offer a soft feel, and slowly progress toward firmness until you get a response- then release the pressure. Eventually that first soft offer will mean something to them 😊

And for the record, I’m no pro, but that’s the method we use, and it seems to work pretty good 😊😊

just subscribed and was wondering what an easy way to get into horses is?
@MTN_BUILT
@MTN_BUILT Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for subscribing 😊 I’d say the best way would be to either find a friend who has horses or to work seasonally on a guest ranch. That way you can learn the ropes from someone who has some experience 😊 It’s pretty intimidating to try to learn everything on your own. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have more questions down the road 😊
