yo, is there a way to retain the original GAMMA icons without the KVMAS+Azertrix mod overriding them? ideally id like to keep all of the icons the same except for the armor/helmet icons which the model mod can replace quick edit: you can keep ALL of the gamma icons by having the model mod load BEFORE gamma icons but then armor icons dont change

Thanks for the inspiration, Custer! I ended up adding to my already heavily modded version of Gamma (instead of going the EFP route) and incorporated some of the missing items you list in your description/notes. The one extra item I added that was absent from your list is the Ultimate Weapon Pack, which adds a ton of new guns and animations, adding a lot variety and choice to any new playthrough. :)

@@thespeeddemon7832 I don't know this mod, exactly, but usually with texture mods you just replace them with the old one. Just drag and drop the maps from the winrar (7zip, etc) file into your game directory. Like I said though, I am not familiar with this mod.

This stuff looks exceptional, and super video quality, Custer! I'm in awe at the level and quality of development constantly improving this game. Appreciate the link to EFP Tut, but for those only loosely familiar with mod management, it's just confusing. The one thing I'd like to see - and I'd do it myself if I had the knowledge - is a full GAMMA install / mod tut that includes all this stuff. Load order is apparently important, as well as enabling / disabling some mods, and then depending on what you have, adjusting setting in-game. It's pretty overwhelming, and a comprehensive HowTo would really be nice.

It looks indescribably good. As I know a fair bit about modding, I also know that your setup requires some modding knowledge. Not possible for 95 percent of people out there without problems. A tutorial would make a lot of people out there, including me, happy

Easier than you think, graphical mods are quite cross compatible. Don't get into too much trouble until you get into conflicting animations or scripts. I learned the first thing about modding Anomaly with MO2 just 2 weeks ago, have a custom setup with a bit over 40 mods set up including most of the available visual enhancement ones, running well and making the Zone feel awesome and fresh for me.

Just when I got a solid mod list set up for my own custom gameplay and am near 100% satisfied with the results, I find a couple mods in this that just look insanely good. I have a few retextures, and sound mods that I absolutely love, but the rest of these that wont screw with those, I have to try. And the 4K mutants have been in my modlist since release, I hope the rest of the mutants get 4k textures soon, but it isn't the end of the world.

​@wowieWOWWWW For the most part yes. If you're having trouble, their are tons of YT videos showing how to mod Stalker GAMMA. After you do it enough times it's all the same. Some mods are not as "easy as others but most are copy paste. Some require deactivating activated mods that come with GAMMA. Basically bc you're replacing it with whatever you downloaded. But like I said, utilize YT!

Great Video...makes me wanna go back into STALKER...but I have just finishes setting up my SPT modlist. I usually go with a reshade preset from Frosty, like ZoneRealityRemade. That dude makes some amazing reshade presets and texture packs. I love Arrival as well. You got me interested in the RE:Pack series texture, will definitely look into it, at least the PDA one.

Really great modes and tips. Another one for flicker and anit-aliasing is DSR which is not a mod but NVIDIA feature to run game at higher base res and display lower res. If your GPU is beefy it produces excellent results.

Ok you motivated me to redownload EFP, haven't played in a very long time (v3.1 i think) and I had a pretty old gpu and only 16gb of ram at the time so i never used other textures than the EFP texture pack which was unfinished at the time and had weird looking metal pipes... I've never played this game because it always looks so old and graphics are very important to me. After watching your video I really want to try it with these mods. I know modding is tedious (I've modded Fallout 4 and The Witcher 3 for years) but it looks like it's worth it. Thank you!

Using most of the mods you mentioned. I especially love the KVMAS and Arrival mods. The particulate matter Arrival adds is super cool. One of my essentials. Another mod I consider essential is Annihilation Music Replacer. It just fits so perfectly. I think it adds to and doesn't replace Anomaly/Gamma's music, not sure but I love it. Btw, I love that you're still using Badlands after so long! It's essentially the preset I make for nearly every game I add reshade to, though my favorite right now for Gamma is Area X. Curious, did you make any tweaks to Badlands or is it the default one that comes with Gamma? I've been working on a new, more efficient version.

I tried doing hippos guide for efp, but all the shadows even under trees were pitch black to the point of needing a flashlight to see anything. Maybe ill try it on gamma as i like both.

How did you get TFAA and Adaptive fog into that reshade when it doesn't come with them?

You have to look through the effects when you download reshade. There is a section that asks what effects you'd like to install (Marty's etc..) look through them and find the ones you want and make sure you check the boxes. Be warned the more effects you add the longer reshade takes to load and bigger shader cache to clear regularly.

disable sun shadows. it doesn't make any sense for your gpu to process shadows while the weather is cloudy/rainy with zero shadows in sight. Also, those shadows appear eventhough there's heavy overcast which is a little bit immersion breaking for me

the problem with this game is its age. We've done it so much in all directions, that today we're not coming back just for the visuals. The places are known by heart, there are no more surprises. And having to load the game every time you change zone is very, very painful in 2024. I've been playing the game since the first day it came out, and I'm talking about STALKER 1st of the name. Then I made them all, with thousands of mods. Now I can't do it anymore.
