The leather is similar, but the comfort level and form is not there compared to an A2000.

i just got a 44 pro glove and it’s nice, the kip liner and the laces are petty good too, but imma be honest the thumb and pinky aren’t very comfortable as with the a2000 which i’ve had for a couple years now is a lot more comfortable

I don't know exactly, but it could be the oiled chestnut is softer than the other leathers. I received my oc last week (pro stiff) and I could squeeze it pretty easily when I got it.

Compared to say a Wilson or Rawlings are the sizes of the 44pro true to size not sure if that makes sense basically I'm wondering if a 11.75 in a 44 is the same as a Wilson 11.75

Just got mine it today, love it! The only complain i have too is the thumb. Did yours just become more comfortable with time? Or did you put some oil of something in to make it softer?
@brettbedard79192 жыл бұрын
I got a 44 last week and the thumb was very stiff, as the plastic insert seemed to run too low into palm binding. Makes it uncomfortable when squeezing and breaking in that break point. I loosened up the wrist lace to help with the feel. I have a Rico star series also about 2 weeks old. Leather is much better, seems thicker and the thumb insert is placed higher making closing the glove much more comfortable. You don’t feel the end of the insert every squeeze.
@brettbedard79192 жыл бұрын
I also have the extra kip palm liner on both. And I do feel like I will ultimately like both of them, but my younger sons will probably get a $200 Rico Star Series opposed to an on sale $160 44 Pro signature series.
@bradysmith18503 жыл бұрын
I added the kip palm liner to my 44 and it has made it a lot harder to break in. It makes it more durable, but not as easy to break in if you're looking for a quick break in. I don't think I will add kip palm liner on my next 44 just so I can compare both ways.

You can get padded thumb and pinky loops from 44. You just have to ask. I have it on 2 of my 44's. They are much more comfortable. Next time just mention it to them when you design a glove.

I personally like a2000s more. Both have good leather but the a2000 is more comfortable. I think wilson usually has a sale mid September on most of their gloves on the website so u could probably get it for less than a 44

@@redmamba625 I have a 44 pro signature series and a Rico Star Series. 44 was on a sale for $160, Rico was $200. Both with custom name on glove and kip palm liner. I recommend doing it the right way rather than the faster way so just use the glove as much as you can when you want it broken in faster throw the ball continuously in the pocket if you’re just sitting around.

@@brettbedard7919Ik this is old but did you get the pro stiffness or the normal 50%, and is the glove still good a year later?
@brettbedard7919 Жыл бұрын
@Gracee C I have two 44s now. First one is standard stiffness w/Kip palm liner, dual welting, Blonde with black in the dual welting slots. 2 years old now and leather/laces are holding up great. I condition with nokona at start and end of season. My new one I went with Pro stiff and kept the sheepskin palm liner. I went with a black leather inlay option on the back, with Oiled Chestnut on the palm, web and finger tips. Had this one about 6 months now (all offseason) I really love the way this one feels. You put your hand in this one and it’s identical to putting my hand in the A2000s/Heart of the hides at athletic stores. Leather on outside is not quite the same but 44s are Kip leather and A2000/heart of hide are steerhide leather those will always feel softer or “buttery”. Kip is lighter and will get close with conditioner though. Breaking them in really was about the same, however the thumb and pinky inserts are definitely thicker with pro stiff, which I like. The sheepskin liner is a lot more comfortable than the Kip liner but it’s too early to know how ultimately those liners hold up long term. I do a lot of manipulation of the leather with my hands and fingers in the palm area folding/closing it over cm by cm (without creasing it) and especially at the hinge points to work the leather. Beyond that it’s just mallet and couch catch and I’ll wrap up the glove with a ball or two when I’m not working on it. I wish KZbin let you post pictures. Anyone I know with a 44 suggests going with traditional colors for the main glove and laces. Introducing more dye colors always seems to be the issue area on a problem with 44. Laces are weaker, leather has issues. Either that or they did the oven, microwave, steam etc. route and dried out the laces. Love pro stiff, black or tan laces, THESE two gloves will last me a long time. I hope everyone has same experience as me but you will see some horror stories on 44s now and then. Probably not telling the whole back story.
