Custom 7-String Guitar Build Ziricote/Black Limba, Take 2 (Full Build)

The inspiration for this build was just an idea I had one day to make a Les Paul style guitar in a way that Gibson or Epiphone never would. I've seen LPs with 7 strings, and I've seen LPs with Floyd Rose bridges, but never both on the same guitar. I've never seen a LP with neck-through construction, and to make this guitar completely alien to every LP I've ever seen I decided to make this guitar with three single coil pickups too. The other inspiration behind this build was the extremely negative response to a video I made in 2017 in which I made a guitar out of Ziricote and Black Limba, so I decided to use those same materials again for this guitar. This is one of the strangest, yet most oddly compelling guitars I have made to date.
This is the complete build video on the making this custom guitar, the build was completed on July 12th, 2020.
The body is Black Limba (also known as Black Korina), the neck is Black Limba and Wenge, and the fretboard is Birdseye Maple with an Ebony inlay.
The pickups are the Cobra Coil set from Bare Knuckle Pickups.
The bridge is a Pro Series Floyd Rose 7 string bridge.
Gotoh Tuners.
The knobs are simple gold metal dome knobs.

A little extra info about the playing demo: The guitar was tuned to Drop A (for those who are unfamiliar, this means the regular 6 strings were in standard "E" tuning, with the extra low string being dropped to "A" from its standard "B"). The amp we were using was a Hughes & Kettner TubeMeister Deluxe 20w, and all of the guitar sounds you hear were recorded using the amp's onboard H&K Red Box DI. Pedals used were: Delay - Strymon Volante Overdrive 1 - Boss Waza Craft Blues Driver Overdrive 2 - Friedman BE-OD (for the tighter bass response) (And as I said in the video, I am not being paid to promote any of these products, nor were they provided to me for free or at a discount).

OK! I've seen two or three of your projects now and they are superb. I've no beef about any of your techniques, they work and they produce a fine product. I particularly love your choice of timbers. I know you are an expert guitar maker, but I feel you missed the puspose of those fret polishing wheels. You should create a round channel in the edge of the disc. I use a round file that is about the same diameter as the fret. Using the wheel parallel to the fret, instead of perpendicular will give you an absolute mirror finish every time, and no further steps are needed.

That was a joy to watch. Your builds are top notch. The tone coming from those pick ups is not what I expected. If I were listening to the sound demo blind folded I would swear those were humbucker pick ups. There really isn't that twangy quality in the bridge position. The 60 cycle hum is the only thing that gives it away that you are using single coils. I really like what you did with the shape of the headstock and the tuner placement. It has a nice look to it. The bridge is so far up the body, do you normally strum that high up and this is your personal preference?

I put the bridge where it needs to be in order for the guitar to intonate properly.

Black Limba i used on a warmoth kit dented so easliy. I swear i was more gentle with tools and moving it around then the guys in these videos, still dents everywhere. still dents easily after wipe on poly. Anyone know of an easy to apply finish that harder than most?
