Really like this design, I have a 8.5m centre cab like your first OE Fab boat, it’s a great boat but wish I had of built something like this instead. I agree with the amount of time and effort to fit out a build like this and don’t think I could go through it all again. Also I reckon it will be heavier than you estimate, mine weighed 4020kgs , 400 litres fuel, empty water tank, twin 225 mercs

Thanks Paul👍My first 8.5 weighed exactly 3.5t dry with a 1t steel trailer and the 300hp. I never travel full of fuel so all good. It will be interesting to see what it comes in at😎

Nice boat but a little under powered. 600 V12 you’re going to need. Merc 450R ‘s are available in Australia too.

Nah mate, she ain’t no offshore racer. It will do around 41-42kn with the 350hp, plenty for offshore fishing👌

I can never understand why people want to overpower a hull, all you end up doing is waste fuel to gain a couple more knots of usually unusable speed.

@@Smokeyr67 Yeh on my last 8.5m I ran a 300hp Suzuki, topped out at 38kn and 36kn full with 6 blokes on board, mint on fuel and fast enough for our conditions. I’m going the 350hp this time for a bit more when fully loaded, for up north sends👌

That's going to be an awesome rig. The only thing I would have changed is a reversable back rest on the rear part of the L shaped lounge so when trolling a couple of people can sit looking at the spread in comfort. Like I said though, awesome.

Wait what happen to your centre console. Don't tell me you sold it but if you still have it then I'd say these custom boat builds you keep doing must cost over 250k? each 🤔 did you win the lottery or something here I am looking at a boat to buy with a 35k-45k max budget Anyway your builds are great 👍keep it up don't go broke lol.
