Beautiful work on the trailer. Looks great! Can't wait to see how that Phazer flys.

I was thinking of buying the base and doing a wood structure with foam insulation walls and a poor man's fiberglass finish, but seeing yours I wondering if it is worth it to learn how to weld aluminum, I weld to lower frame also and just buy the wheels kit

Nice! I like the zebra motif. Been thinking for a long time of doing the same for my white 4WD PPG Trike hauler truck.

Being such a lite trailer -- any cross wind towing issues. Cheers

I pulled it 12 hours to Osh and back this year. No issues, cruised about 65-70 mph and got 15 mpg towing with jeep. Normally i get 18 mpg. Great success!

Great job! Can you provide measurments? I will ne buying a Firefly in the near future and would like to build a trailer to pick it up with. Thanks!

he's got that expensive brake sitting on two chairs!? could have made an arched enclosure and made it a lot smaller and more streamlined, use less aluminum too.

Hey Ben! Found your videos researching phazer engines. I was like, I wonder where this guy is from? Then I heard you mention Michigan and put 2&2 together and your Jeep. I came up there and flew that kitfox 2 down south that you sold. I’ll have to get up there and visit next summer. Also I got my glider cert this summer so I would like to come check out your guys’s Glider opps.

Just curious.... did you hand cut all the black vinyl zebra stripes? Thinking about a zebra design on a Zenith?
@bkairys3 жыл бұрын
Yes, just a roll of black vinyl, and freehand with a razor blade. I'm not artistic at all, so anyone could do it.

How do You get the trailer street legal?
@bkairys3 жыл бұрын
In Michigan, you just need a weight and lights inspection.

What do you think the final cost of the trailer build will be?
@bkairys3 жыл бұрын
About 1k, only that low because I got really good deals on materials.

@@bkairys great job on the trailer ,could be scary pulling it with a cross wind though,the flat right angle top will create rotor coming back on the sides ,justp needed a little 1/4 radius of a about 4 inches joining the roof to the sides thats will make life easy towing it its easy fix could buy a premoulded length or cut ally sheet take and get rolled for 100 its saves your plane getting destroyed, next time you see a box van or a long vehicle look at roof line
@bkairys3 жыл бұрын
Ya was actually thinking of making some of those rear fairings that fold out like I see on semi truck trailers
@theresnobodyhere57783 жыл бұрын
@@bkairys biggest worry is the side walls similair to to a mountain or brick wall wind hits it and rotor effect at the top edge pulls it over or swing be snaking about going along road

Took up 70 mph today empty and seemed to pull nice so far.
