Nice video you see Yamaha announced they are going to build aircraft engines last week. Announcement was a partnership with a Japanese aircraft manufacture. I wonder if this will lead to full engine production competing with Rotax.

Hey Ben, Really looked forward to seeing this one; the First Flight of the Abominable Snow Machine: just like the renowned 'Abominable Snow Man', your new girl can go places at speeds no one would expect by just looking at her! She can leap tall Sequoias in a single bound! I LOVED that superbly SHARP ASCENT; like one of those Just Aircraft Heavies with the 180Hp Titan engines! When you noted you could have made an even steeper ascent, I'm going.......oh yeah, the Hammerhead ride from days long gone! I figured that engine would do the job for you, and in spades (that much hp with so little weight? How could she not go lickety split?), but what you showed us all speaks well to your giving her the Full Test and debugging phase, and I'm here to tell you, I'm REALLY LOOKING FORWARD to seeing those flight numbers, especially C.R., GPH, Stall, and definitely the numbers for STOL lift offs and landings! Lastly, if she proves out for you, I'm STILL HOPING that you'll really take the time to consider launching her commercially; there are a CRAPLOAD of folks out there who are TIRED of the 582's, the high costs of the HKS engines (love their 4 strokes but super high dollar), etc. I know there are a mountain of variables, including your views of such a complex project, but I do believe there is a market out there (I'm still not a part of that market yet, health still sucks, and all I've earned this year is $5k gross) for your great engine. When (not if) she proves out, I'd love to see her set up with FADEC and a Constant Speed Prop (or what the fascist swine at FAA are starting to call "One Lever Control" so they don't have to say C.S.P., differentiating between ELSA/103/LSA and Commercial). Can you imagine the benefits of FADEC with C.S. for STOL off field and operating cost savings? More people could afford to fly and would fly more! Oh well, the best laid plans and all....... Thanks again for a great video, just wish it had been longer with more results.....yes, I know, "Life Intrudes"; preachin to the choir! Cheers from the Oil Patch in Central WY PS. You want to talk about wind, take a look at where I live pertaining to wind this week and next....normal for us

I just bought a Quicksilver MXL II with a 503 that also needs new sails. I game across your series to put this Phaser engine on your Firestar and thought it would be great to have the extra HP on a Quick. The difference is that you know what you are doing and there isn't enough information in this series for me to learn how to do it as well. Even the part about where I can get the complete engine that is reliable. Any thoughts?

In one of these videos you mentioned the speed sensor was causing errors, I wonder if you could attach a small fan blade to a shaft and also mount a reluctor wheel behind it and kill 2 birds with one stone, I think this is how BOM gets it's speed data. Also how the V-1 buzz bombs calculated distance for their guidance systems
