Custom Bauer HyperLite 2 set! The ordering process and what specs I chose

In this video I go over the process in how I chose the custom set that I did. There's a ton of options so I hope this helps those of you looking to order a custom set.
I also try and explain some small details about gear that might help anyone make a better decision when looking for equipment.

I hope one day I can do a custom set. I've bought new sets before but they have just been floor models. my current pads are a custom set that I bought second hand. They have a really cool design but they are starting to show their age.

I am green with envy, it would take me years of combing the ditches for bottles and cans to afford a new matching set, matching is the key word as us goalies are quirky like that. In Feb of this year I hit a sale and bought a new blocker and glove, Bauer M5 pro but the pads will have to wait. At now 63, I will never out live the new equipment even though I play 3 to 4 times a week from october to march but you just can’t put a price on comfortable proper fitting equipment. All the best and as I was always told even though you buy new golf clubs, they don’t come with a new swing.

Hey there, great video man! I am also placing a custom order trying to decide between the Hyperlite 2 and the Shadow. I have heard the Shadow is more similar to the Supreme than the Mach. Do those new Hyperlite 2 pads have a lot more torsion (twist) to them in the shin part of the pad? Just wondering how it is to get up in those Supremes when you have to dive or get twisted up. Seems like if they are hard pads, it would be difficult to get back to your feet in that case. What was your reasoning for going with the Hyperlite 2 base pads vs the Supreme / Shadow type pads? Thanks for you time.

So Ive only worn the Mach and I never had a problem getting up in them when diving around or getting twisted up. The main difference between the two is the calf wrap style. The one I show here is the shadow calf Velcro where it’s more secure around the calf area vs hyperlite which is I believe less of a sling and just a simple Velcro elastic strap. I went with the hyperlite 2 base simply because I thought I would like softer pads, mostly for narrow butterfly. In the end my pad actually ended up more on the stiffer supreme side (I chose ultrasonic stiffness) than the original hyperlite 2 (which is comes soft stock). I actually prefer a stiffer pad now and if I had to do it all over again I would have just settled on the shadow line. Hope that helps!

@@ovr40goalie Yes that is very helpful! Thanks man. I was thinking I would like the softer pad for mobility But I have a wide butterfly so I was thinking the rebounds from the stiffer pads and the more angled boot and the large calf pad were worth the mobility trade off. It's a very hard decision with so much money on the line.

Either way bauers have hot rebounds, my other reason for going stiffer was my old hyperlite 1 that was used for two seasons ended up being extremely floppy, so it was more of a durability decision also

@@ovr40goalie That's a good point on the durability, you mentioned that in the video and I didn't think about that after. I've had a few knock through my pads on my Gnetik Vs lately. Pretty frustrating when you have both thigh rises stacked and it still goes through!

@@erikhannah2043 ah I actually came from gnetiks as well , don’t recall which ones though. If you like that feel then yeah the hyperlites would be good for that since it’s softer. I found that using a stiffer pad I was way more stable and just felt more huge in net lol but yeah it’s a lot of money to invest and not know exactly how it’s gonna feel

When ordering custom through the store, do you have to pay with a card?

No I don’t think you need to use a card it’s just being rung up on the till like a normal transaction.

Don't agree about the thigh rise ,I think the curve is better for narrow butterfly .
