The contrast of the natural edging looks great. I’m not too keen on the white thread though, I still prefer the original look. The workmanship is top class. Great video

Very well done on achieving a more contemporary / casual look that the customer asked for. Sure, it might not be to everyone's taste but it's not their boots! The stitching and edge finishing is clearly done to a high standard that you wouldn't know that this conversion was not done at the Cheaney factory - great job!!

it's good to see the line up of all the different jobs Paul has on.. you definitely keep him busy! I really liked the look of the chukka boots with a commando sole - that's a combo I haven't seem much of

It’s you guys keeping him busy, he’s been snowed under since that long Churchs video got 50k views. Id get you some photos of those, but they have probably gone out now.

I agree not to everyone's taste, but the customer's always right in that matter. Thanks for the talk through the stitching machine, I'd been puzzled how you always managed to reuse the original stitch holes.

They look fantastic. Although I don’t think I could have done this without wearing out the perfectly good heel first and jazz it up next time.

Thankfully the original heel and heel stack went straight back on, quite a big job really. It's a fine line to do it on a new boot, your right.

They look great. I don’t think they look more casual than they were before. The speed hooks at the top make them casual to me, as speed hooks are country walking boots, casual boots & army boots. So yeah 👍🏻 the customer made a good call. 🙂

Love the contrast stitch and natural leather colour on the sole and heel. Great stuff. Wouldn't do it on a new shoe though. Have two pairs of Tricker's Stow (plus one Wetherby) but the commando soles take an eternity to wear down so I'll probably never get the chance to get this done!
@shoehealer8853Ай бұрын
Thank you, you could have the natural edge done without the stitching, no need to strip it down then.

@ramalufc322Ай бұрын
I've a pair of these and they're quite casual imo anyway (better fit for me than the Trickers Stow too as that's needs a higher volume foot ime). Lovely job all the same and the customer's always right lol
@shoehealer8853Ай бұрын
You're absolutely right the Trickers do need big wide feet to fill them .... Not my skinny things. Antony

Like the polished edges, most of my boots have had this done, not crazy about the white stitching, to me cheapens them, but hey ho that's what the customer wants.
@shoehealer8853Ай бұрын
Yes, but hopefully we have shown you something you haven’t seen before to aid in future decision making.
@UnknownUser-rb9pdАй бұрын
I don't think the customer's taste and mine are the same (I'm being diplomatic) but that was a very neat job. I own the Tweed myself in the "husk oiled leather" which I believe is a vegetable tanned leather and it has the Vibram Vi-lite Genepy sole unit which makes it a lot lighter. The leather though creases more dramatically than any other footwear in my collection and I'm not sure if it is a feature of the leather or poor clicking but it is definitely a rustic leather with some much lighter colour close to the welt where the leather was stretched when lasted.
@shoehealer8853Ай бұрын
The customer really was a very nice guy and if I'd have said it was too much trouble he would have been fine with just the ligher edges. It sounds like you have a very different looking boot with some lovely patina....I do like different 😉 Antony
@UnknownUser-rb9pdАй бұрын
@@shoehealer8853 Yes, the Tweed was available in three colours and each had a different sole. Tweed R (Dark Leaf), Tweed C (almond ) and Tweed GV in a dark brown.

@shoehealer8853Ай бұрын
Both easily reversible though, but at least we have shown you something you haven’t seen before,now you know what you like best, which is the aim.
@Pomegranate_DavidАй бұрын
How much did it cost? I honestly really liked the finished look as it will get the wearer tons of attention, good and bad no doubt.😂
@shoehealer8853Ай бұрын
The boot retails at £495 so without any first-time buyers discount of 10%, I'd probably just put an extra £20 on....that's making it around £70 but it takes soooo long to do!!
@Pomegranate_DavidАй бұрын
@@shoehealer8853 Oh that's a bargain then. A real labour of love from you guys to make such a personalised pair of boots for the customer.
@adampitt1986Ай бұрын
Each to their own 😅 I've got this boot but in husk (brown) with the vi-lite sole. It's cracking! But sadly discontinued - absolutely no idea why they'd stop making them as I think they're the pick of the bunch. The dark leaf is better in the brogue derby shoe style rather than the boot in my opinion but still a stunning boot!

Great Job. But not worth compromising the original construction and structural integrity of a brand new factory made boot. Waste of money really. Had it been a resoling or rebuilding job after a few years of wear, then it would be understandable and worthwhile.
@shoehealer8853Ай бұрын
You might be right.....it was a lot of effort. The boot went back together perfectly, and we would guarantee the work we did forever, but it would have been simpler with a rebuild. 👍
