This was a really well produced video, even though you did time lapse I got all information I need to mount my gear in the rear of my red 1981 Corvette. I have 2800 watts in it now with my amp in the rear compartment next to battery but I will make exactly the same style unit that you did. Incredible workmanship! Thanks very Much!

Grew up with a 78 in the driveway. It’s the first car I ever drove. Grandpa had to put a pillow down in the seat so I could see over the dash. Had the t-tops off…. Never went over 30mph but it was awesome! Your dads looks well kept. Awesome vid.

When my teenage daughter took over driving my car, she wanted to upgrade the stereo and add a subwoofer. We did a new head unit and two under-seat subs, which is nowhere near as fancy as your build, but running all the wires and taking apart the interior was a day-long project. It was GREAT to do together. Having the stereo is great, too, but the experience of installing it ourselves was even better.

I did already see the sound system at your dad's birthday party, but it was really cool seeing the process of you building it! I guess I forgot that you said before that it took 2 months to build it. Nice use of the song "Livin' in the Sunlight, Lovin in the Moonlight" like how it was used in the first episode of SpongeBob. Also, where did you guys go at 4:58 to 5:35 ?

@@pierogiengineering Thanks for the song and for letting me know that you guys went to downtown Miami in that part of the video.
@iansinnovations13933 жыл бұрын
@@pierogiengineering Oh and did you know that copywrite issues with the song "Livin' in the Sunlight, Lovin' in the Moonlight" had prevent the first episode of SpongeBob from being included in most, if not all, DVD sets of the fist season of the show? This is apparently because Nickelodeon did not want to pay the estate of the song's singer for the rights. But the episode had had official releases on DVD in different ways.
@pierogiengineering3 жыл бұрын
Really? Bastards. That was a golden episode and the song was perfect for it. Hopefully I don’t get a strike for using the song.
@iansinnovations13933 жыл бұрын
@@pierogiengineering I think the most that you would get for using it would be a copywrite claim. Which is different from your entire video getting taken down for copywrite infringement.

I Just ordered the Custom Audio USA 740 radio and some Infinity Kappa 93ix 6x9s, Infinity Kappa 64cfx 4x6s. I'm going to order an Alpine PDX V9 amp and Jl audio 10tw3-d4 sub next. I'm going to build this same speaker box that you built to mount the 6x9s and sub. Do you have any build plans or list of measurements you could share? Also how do you like the infinity sub? I was considering it as a option.
@pierogiengineering2 жыл бұрын
For a $700 budget, I couldn’t be happier with the sound. Bass digs deep, mids are balanced, and sopranos are clean. I wouldn’t spend the extra money on a JL primarily because the infinity sub I have already outputs enough bass to loosen screws in the vette, up to you tho. I gave the sub one cubic foot of sealed volume, as recommended by the manufacturer. And for the coaxial speakers, I don’t know, but not much is needed, as you can see in the video. I don’t have any measurements to provide you with, I got rid of all that a while back, but in the beginning of the video, you see I made a cardboard template to fit as best as possible, and I HIGHLY recommend you do that too. I made sure as to leave room for the sun/cover tarp to still be rolled out over the enclosure, and I also measured the depth of our T-top panels and made sure that the enclosure wasn’t too thick to prevent the panels from fitting behind the seats. It’s a very tedious enclosure, but relatively straight forward. Let me know if any other questions. Best of luck.

Unfortunately I didn’t keep them, but there is no way to know all the radii and contours without making a template.
