Hi! There are a lot of spectacular carpentry works with kitchen cutting boards on the vastness of KZbin. And 3D, burning, wood cutting. But for my taste, the cutting board should be very simple and elegant at the same time. In this video, my fantasy on the topic of making cutting boards.
Enjoy watching! #nomorewords #asmr #asmrvideo #woodwork #carpenter #cuttingasmr

Very nice work..great looking boards..would use them more as a charcuterie board than a cutting board though because of the face grain. Also be careful with tung oil, it is from a nut tree and could possibly cause allergic reactions.

I assume you have little to no change in humidity in your region. Cross grain gluing will not allow the top to expand with increase humidity. Maybe consider just gluing one end of the rail to allow movement. Just a thought

Would you apply a coat of cutting board wax after the tung oil?
@no_more_words

No, waxing is absolutely not required after tung oil. Since the wax will still wash out, and the oil polymerizes very well and is in the wood.

These are beautiful boards but walnut cutting boards will warp over time, especially after a number of cleaning cycles. These should be used as charcuterie boards, they will last longer . Cutting boards should be end grain or edge grain.

Greetings! You are right, but the "axes" boards are not cutting, but serving. The other two boards can be used as you like without bending them, since they have oak transverse inserts installed. Well, at the very end of the video, if you look closely, then there are slightly different options, a mixed board - end + face 😉
