I definitely admire people that have the skill and patience to create their own custom rods!🎣😃

Appreciate the comment! My adventure into rod building has been good for my mind (and hands) during the COVID lockdown. It's also rewarding to fish with something that you designed and built. Next builds will be a couple of rods for the Profisha 525. Just waiting for response from the factory on the max rod length that fits inside the 525 fish hatch. The factory (and Ruben) customer service isn't stellar.

@@kbosmack Based on my 555, I’m estimating that you will want to keep your rod lengths no longer than 7’0”.

@@losthorizonfishing107Your 7' recommendation lines up with my thinking. I figure the total length is approximately 17' so a little less than half would be around 6'6"-7'0". Thanks again for the reply.

Nice setup 👍 I always enjoy seeing what other people are making. I hadn’t run across your channel, but it showed up in my suggested videos so I have subscribed now. Keep on building and take care!

Thanks for the positive feedback on the wrapper build and YT subscription 🤜. I've subscribed to your channel 👍. I enjoy seeing other wrappers setups too! Since posting this video, I've added an upper rail so thread now comes over the top and under the blank. I've also retrofitted an Alps power wrap motor and control. Next improvement is going to be redesign of the thread carriage. I hop to get the new carriage built over the Christmas break. I'll post another video showing upgrades soon!!

You definitely win with that rrs, I can tell you I’ve watched hours of KZbin vids on DIY rrs (making my first stand presently) and that is fabulous and probably half the price of a factory item…………Im loving your vids can’t understand why so few viewers.

I appreciate the comment! Since posting this clip I've added a few upgrades. I retrofitted an Alps power wrap motor and moved the thread carriage so it runs above the blank. I need to make a RRS 2.0 video 😆.

@@r.guardia9107 appreciate the comments! I am an engineer and have quite a bit of experience designing custom machines. I'm reconfiguring the thread carriage so the thread feeds down and over the blank. Much better visibility and thread control 👍. I'll post another video when it's done.

Yea, you should make a video👍 Would be interesting to see.

Thanks for the comment! Crazy, no comments for 2 years and then you were the second comment in less than 24 hrs. Making me think I should post another video that shows the changes/upgrades I did this past winter.

Do you have a list of the parts for this build by any chance?
@kbosmack Жыл бұрын
I do, parts and a Solid Works model. The frame is all 80/20 standard profiles. The brackets and slip clutch are custom parts I made on my hobby mill & lathe. If you are interested in replicating what I've done I'm happy to share the details.
