Custom Dynamic Global Illumination built in Unreal Engine 4

I recently had an idea I wanted to try for faking dynamic global illumination in Unreal Engine 4 using nothing but the tools UE4 provides. Since there are no extra light sources used to achieve this effect performance is rather good.
I built this from the ground up using mostly blueprints, it is not using any of the existing GI systems built into UE4 like DFGI, or LPV, it is a custom setup. Outside of the spotlight illuminating the scene there are no extra light actors/point lights etc added to the scene to achieve these results. This is not in any way meant to replace any of the built in systems in UE4, more than anything it was just a fun experiment I wanted to try out :)
If I get enough interest I'll try and get more videos up showing this system in a little more depth, and in a more regular map environment.

So object colour (RGB)* Background colour (RGB)=Light colour (RGB) am i right?

Can someone tell me how much expensive this is compared to Lumen, I heard Lumen uses SSR for smaller models if I'm not mistaken, distant fields and stuff I guess, I'm more familiar to RT than GI, other than GI as a concept, the technique people use to simulate is amazing

It doesn’t update real-time unfortunately. :/

It definitely updates in real-time. I actually have it setup to either update in realtime like in this video, or update only once at the start if your wanting to add some GI to a static environment.

Performance is pretty good overall, if your using it dynamically it is a bit more taxing but if your using it in a static area where it doesn't need to update it is extremely cheap on performance as no extra lighting is being used in the world.
