I just built a table and I’m happy with it other than the sound so I have a question for you! My issue is very nitpicky. My table folds up, when u drop chips is the middle of the table where is more solid, the sound of the chips hitting the table is good. But as you move further away from the center and drop the chips, the sound is off, it sounds more hollow and just a bit off. The plywood is only 1/2”. To 9-10 people it’s a non issue but I’m anal about stuff like that. Wondering if I put dynamat along the underside of the table if this would make it sound more solid?

Great Job! I have a IDS 96" Dark Knight poker table and I want to replace the speedcloth. Have you ever worked on one of these tables and is it difficult to replace the speedcloth? Because, I don't see any bolts on the underside?

Sorry but no, we haven't worked on that model before. There should be screws on the underside of the table, probably not bolts.

@@chanmanpokertables Yes, there are wood screws on the underside, but they are there to attach the base pillars to the table top. This table was manufactured in China. After separating the base from the top, you don't see any screws or bolts. It's as if they may have used some sort of glue to seal the speedcloth inside the top. There has to be a way of replacing the cloth. Replacing the cloth is required over time and wear.

@@blkhoustonian If that's the case, then yes they most likely glued the playing surface onto the base sheet, which is a cheap way to make the table since then the speed cloth can't be easily replaced without damaging the table. Sorry we haven't worked on one of those models before so we don't know if it can be removed without causing damage to the table.

im curious what would happen if you just left the original felt on and put the new stuff right on top of it. If you don't feel like removing staples, it could make it even easier. Also you have previous felt for reference instead of measuring.
@chanmanpokertables2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can do that. If it's a light color felt though, sometimes the graphics from the cloth underneath may show through. If you do this a few times, the playing surface will get thicker and thicker, and the padding will become more firm as more layers are added. Rail fitment can also start to become a problem if there's too many layers, but doing it couple times is totally fine.

Hey Tony, I recently bumped into your video. I’ve built a few tables myself and totally dig your kick stand idea and was thinking i implement that as well on my table. Do you have plans or can you provide a little direction on how you made/installed them please. Thank you for your time
