Y'know that's damn near perfect. You've done great job with this one Dunno what it is with this version - the shade of blue or the sign font, or maybe even just the shape of it but there's definitely something....mysterious and intimidating about the 8th Doctor box. And its something you've managed to keep in the model.

Thanks it would be nice one day to see this re-release, but with two TARDIS sets already released, and 2 MORE coming in future, although as they are said to be from the 70s/80s era it's unlikely either will be an Eighth Doctor TARDIS but we can still hope for future!

It is a shame we never got to see it but to be fair too as The Master's TARDIS has a work chameleon circuit then it could have been anything. There was a popular rumour going around during the production of the series 8 finale that a red telephone box seen during production was going to be her TARDIS but it was just a rumour.

I have looked at them and one day I would like to get one, however previously and as present time I simply don't have the space for one so whilst I may get one in future, it's not something that's currently possible

Al Dewar said recently that an official TV Movie Tardis toy will probably never happen because of licencing issues and possibly tooling costs. Mostly because of rights issues though. It's a crying shame.

Sadly that does seem to be the case, I think it's unlikely we'll ever see anything from the TV Movie for a LONG time. However it does raise the possibility that an Eighth Doctor TARDIS set could be done if the comics were licensed, similar to how we got The Eighth Doctor & Children Of The Revolution Dalek set a few year back.

Big Finish wouldn't be impossible but it come down to licensing rights again, there's more scope of "loopholes" with the comics, given their "artistic licence". Whereas anything produced through Big Finish might be specifically Big Finish but if Big Finish themselves used reference material from the TV Movie (such as promotional images of McGann or the TARDIS) then it could be debated as to whether that would be allowed or not given the original source of the reference material. The Mechanus Daleks are a good example of this, we all call them Movie Daleks, we KNOW they are the movie props BUT because they appeared in show BEFORE the movie they can be used without having to pay for the movie image rights, because of that loophole, but it only works for those specific Daleks.

@@CaptainJimiPie If they want to use the TV Movie Eighth Doctor figure again then you'd have to repaint it to be either a version of him from BF or Comics so yeah I see your point. Mind you if it's BF related they'd probably go for the Dark Eyes version from the 2019 B&M wave.

Well the Children Of The Revolution version used the same sculpt as the TV movie one, just with different colours so even with BF there's no reason they couldn't change it slightly according to a specific story as even though it's not on a cover his costume did vary. Plus I think fans would be more likely to buy a set featuring his earlier appearance rather than his later one.

That is awesome. Easily one of my favorite Exteriors. Perhaps you could do an updated TV Movie 7th Doctor using a Talons of Weng Chiang Fourth Doctor from the 70s Set as a base for the suit , and the legs + head of a 7 figure. Not knocking the previous version though as it's cool, but I feel like the Talons body could be a very good fit.

Thanks and the Talons body wouldn't really work as the Fourth Doctor figure is far more taller than The Seventh Doctor, the legs are much longer, the frills on the cuffs would need to be trimmed off and the coat is closed hiding the waistcoat when it should be open. I would like to an update TV Movie Seventh Doctor at some point but I'd probably just update my old one as it's far closer to how he actually looks in term of a basis

What length should the glue sticks be cut?

I didn't actually measure them to any specific length, I just used rule of eye to get them right and trim them down accordingly until it looked right

Just ordinary hot glue stick, pretty much whatever looked the right size, shape & colour

The glue stick was a bit of genius, worked perfectly. 8 never got the respect it should have; while the film never quite took off, the new series wouldn't have happened without it. Question, and don't get offended, but I thought the 1st Doctor's TARDIS was the smallest, as it continued to "grow" as the years passed. I seem to recall a scene with 1 and 12 (Capaldi, the numbers are a bit off with War and the psuedo-regeneration of Tennant) where they looked over each other's capsule, and 1's was significantly smaller. Am I wrong on this?

Thanks, and as far as I'm aware of the classic TARDIS's (not including the Movie one) The First Doctor's TARDIS was actually the tallest, if you compare it to the others you'll notice they are much smaller, especially The Fourth Doctor's. As for the comparison between The First & Twelfth Doctor's TARDIS's then The First Doctor's is smaller however the new series police boxes are MUCH bigger than the original ones. Plus the TARDIS The First Doctor uses in Twice Upon A Time is actually what most people would consider The Second/Third Doctor TARDIS as that variation first appeared in Hartnell penultimate story The Smugglers, and was used (albeit with minor updates and variations over the years) thought both The Second & Third Doctor's era before being replaced mid(ish) way through The Fourth Doctor's era...so you are wrong but unintentionally and with a good reason why haha

@@CaptainJimiPie That's why I was sheepishly throwing that out there. Here in the States, Doctor Who was unseen until PBS started showing the Fourth. I had a devil of a time getting the first season compiled from KZbin and upscaling to 720p, shame some episodes are gone forever. The quirks of mic boom shadows and the "Fast Return Switch" being written on the console with marker show how far the series has come in a half-century plus. Still thought the TARDIS grew over time, resulting in the behemoth on Trenzalore.

If you mean make full 5" scale models of TARDIS interiors then probably never, simply because I don't have the space to make/store them. I am making a First Doctor TARDIS interior however that is exclusive to my Patreon as it is part of my figure animation

I wonder why CO never made this one. It'd be a good excuse to re-release the Original Eighth Doctor figure. Not including the expensive multi Doctor sets & the extra head with the War Doctor, they have done 3 other variants of him. * Comic Doctor w/ Dalek Alpha. * 'Night' Doctor * 'Dark Eyes' Doctor (Due soon-ish) But the original green coat version is still missing from some peoples collections. Pack him with the TARDIS. That would help them & give us this version of the Police Box.

I could be wrong but I believe the reason The TV Movie Eighth Doctor has only ever had one release in the Eleven Doctor boxset was due to the image rights as Fox still part own them so it's likely they only got the chance to release it for that one set. The comic release with the Alpha Dalek was a means of reusing the figure with a different colour scheme and the Night version (which technically has two variants in itself, clean and dirty) was owned by the BBC and the Dark Eyes was owned by Big Finish so they got the licence from them to release those figures. The chances are we probably wouldn't see a TV Movie Eighth Doctor & TARDIS set, however it's perfectly possible they could just release the TARDIS in the TV Movie style with an TV Movie Eighth Doctor figure but with slight colour/design changes to make it from another comic

Unfortunately it doesn't quite work like that. To make anything from the TV Movie they also need permission from Fox who still hold partial rights to it, which is why all we've ever had from the TV Movie is The Eighth Doctor figure which came in the Eleven Doctors boxset

Again the same issue occurs, re licensing as you say, because all that does is replace Fox with Big Finish, it's an additional company which needs to give their permission and take a cut of the profits
