Thank you Andy I am going to get fit for my pxg set in 6 weeks and have been waiting for a review on the new woods and drivers You did a great job and i am happy with the looks also they do look sharp plus the price drop will save me money... tho i will probably use the savings for better shafts To all the pxg haters out there i am a average golfer 12 handicap and work a regular job is it a lot of money for clubs .. well yes it is is it worth it to me again yes it is I play 120 rounds a year and will keep them for 4 or 5 years Its my 50th birthday present to myself and a lot cheaper than buying a new sports car.. that's how i sold it to the wife :)

Thanks guys i can't wait I am a Auzzie so am getting my clubs fitted by pureform golf in Melbourne Always amusing to me watching your review Andy with snow and ice on the ground and us having a heatwave with 35 to 40 deg days Maybe come to Australia sometime for a holiday and some golf we have some great courses down under Check out Barnbougle golf course in northern Tasmania it is amazing

Glad you liked it. Bought mine 2 weeks ago -- I needed a natural/fade bias rather than draw and so I ended up with the X not the XF. I too struggled with low spin and sadly relatively low club head speed -- I moved up from the 10.5 head to the 12.0 and an S/R rated tour AD shaft to match my 86mph speed -- I dream of 265, sadly long gone for me.

Hi Andy good review. All the shaft options Srixon offer in the Z85 are the proper hand crafted shafts..including the hazardous you show in this vlog. For £ 349 .

ANDY ANDY ANDY Superb review! Been looking forward to this..... They look fantastic from your video, I am going for a fit Jan 23rd.....CAN'T WAIT! Reiterating your point about the fitting process...SO IMPORTANT! & you get so much more with PXG than I have ever experienced......kinda of feel let down by the limited options I have previously been offered....YES the irons were very expensive but the PXG fit process goes a long long way 20 hdcp 62 years old was fit into Gen 2 irons just before Christmas & was gobsmacked I was put into the "T" (was expecting XF or SGI) PXG fitter said the game improvers/super game improvers or any so called mid/high handicap irons were just really not right for my swing style (straight up/down on the ball) Also the big deal for me was the right shaft (Accra 90i Graphite-no up charge) Stiff tipped....only played a couple practice rounds since clubs arrived...immediately AWESOME!...Looking forward to 2019 club comps..... So the metal woods next week......Hopefully make me do a "Dan" WHOOOOP!

UPDATE! In case anyone is interested....Following on from my previous PXG comments Only play 2 1/2 rounds with my new Gen 2 irons...already love them Had my PXG Metalwoods fitting this afternoon, I can pretty much echo the thoughts/experience of our guru "Andy". Down at the ball THEY LOOK ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. Even though my fit was indoors (Canary Wharf, London) Sound was superb therefore probably even better outside. Tried it with many shafts/settings but I am not blessed with the greatest swing speed so the lower spinning X driver did not suit. Different story with the XF then around the houses with settings, shaft flex/shaft weights & interestingly for me the best combination was shorter shaft 44.75 (my PXG irons are + half inch longer than standard) Moving onto fairway wood, always struggled with a 3 even a 5 was erratic/inconsistent so went into a 17 degree + 1/2 degree, hybrid immediately worked/immeasurably better & the distances was not far off what I was getting previously with my 5 wood (when I hit it well) Dialled in the shaft & head settings. Shaft against fairway metal being nearly two inches shorter SUITED! Then gapped a 2nd hybrid 22+ 1/2 degree to my 5 iron.....The PXG fit process is SO MUCH MORE! than I have ever experienced.......makes you feel you are getting the same care & attention that a tour pro would. My PXG master fitter Matt (same I had with the irons) was just wonderful (& very patient with my silly strikes) For all those who tsk tsk tsk about PXG Go through the fit process....you'll be amazed about what you find out about your swing, strike & what suits YOU! It is ALL very individual.....Listen I am a 20hdcp was playing game improver M4 irons now I am playing PXG Gen 2 "T" tour irons because they suited ME! REMEMBER!! Being an "Average" Golfer is not a reference to income but about skill/ability We need ALL the help we can get & yes! you pay for it but PXG gives you so much more than you could ever imagine

Good luck mate lower that handicap Only 5 weeks to go till i get fit but who is counting? I also struggling with 3 wood and was thinking of a 17 deg hybrid instead I got a gen 1 pxg hybrid off ebay 19 deg and it is the best club in my bag by far 170 to 180 meters down the middle everytime not even fitted to me and the sound and feel make the 4 and 5 M2 hybrids feel dull and unresponsive Handicap has come down 3 in last 2 months just from using this club! Cannot wait to be fitted for the gen 2 woods

@@benthomas5151 It is all about how the PXG Master identifies what is good for YOU! Ask questions, why this/why that? they are very happy to give you the reasons which makes it great learning event too. It makes the whole experience very enjoyable. Am sure you will have a great time

His total distance with the driver the fitter told him was 268 total, not 268 carry. The fitter says it at about 11:10 in the video.

One other big reason to take a hard look at this driver is that it won’t be old in 6-12 months like a Callaway or Taylor Made. They are on a 2-3 year product cycle which is why I hate buying TM/Callaway gear

I did the driver fitting, but I wasn’t swinging great. Nonetheless, the $575 price was fine, but right away I was in an upsell shaft for $125. That brings the total to $700. That said, with the new f9, that shaft is a $240 up charge, also making it $700. Pxg is definitely worth checking out. I still haven’t bought a new driver yet. It’s hard to beat my old cobra amp cell pro.

Andy class club reviews. PXG quality product, as are the other major manufacturers. Mega important 10/10 for the PXG attention given to optimising club fitting for the individual average golfer. Other club manufactures lack of a controlled commitment to this area of the sale is questionable. Distribution priority is $/£ sales turnover driven to fund continuing development technology, which is acceptable. However it is questionable if a sacrifice in funding to ensure equality for optimisation in fitting of the clubs during the sales distribution is degraded.

Another great review Andy. I'm with Bandit Baker re having to reassess my price/performance opinions. From the testing the product seems to perform as well as the latest releases from TM, Callaway etc, but do you think it's the level of personal fine tuning the PXG fitters can achieve with the weight/shaft combinations that give it an edge?

First of all, thanks for a great review, Andy. But it has left me quite confused, I have spent the last few weeks largely underwhelmed at the performance of the new Club releases and outraged at the price uplifts. However, this is the first time I have watched a PXG club review not raging about the Price but instead impressed with their performance! If the performance is as good as you say for the Driver, 3Wood and Hybrid (and you are one of the few Reviewers that I actually relate to) it looks as though I will have to reassess my opinion of PXG. And following their recent Price Reductions, they almost seem reasonably Priced! I think my head is going to implode!LOL
