Hello Tom and Kris, I did not get to watch this live. I have a Craftsman tri-blade cutter/molder. I think they are terrific, although I believe they will not make them anymore.

Yes, I remember finding them to be quite useful too Brett. I know I have a set around here and will surely give them a trial run and share on a livestream when I find them!😮😎

Hahaha I just remembered the sound those (craftsman) here in canada brand shaper blades as they ran on the table saw. Still makes me pucker up.

Ah yes, that is an apt and accurate description of the general feeling I get myself when using those things! Am I the only one who feels like “ducking” when I turn those things on?! 😎 Thanks for watching!👍

I missed the live stream, but what an excellent tutorial! This certainly gives me ideas on some frames I want to build, especially not with mitered corners. I like the look of Wenge, and look forward to trying working with that. As for holding the tile in place, what about putting a bead of silicone caulking all around? Working it into the crevices. I have done that before with glass, plus it would prevent tile from rattling around.

Thanks Tom, so glad you enjoyed it! And yes, I think that is an excellent idea to use the silicone caulking…I wish I thought of it myself during the livestream! I tell you the truth, I think I benefit as much or more from you and others who watch than you do from me. It’s honestly our joy to host these livestreams. Hope you have fun building your frames, and thanks for watching! 👍😎

@@EpicWoodworking Thank you for the kind words, Tom. So far I have learned so much from your videos. I recently made an octagon window insert with a round center, that I learned from your Round Frames series. Information & tricks that I would not be able to find so easily. Thank you for that!

Hey Tom great session (a year late on this one😁). Just wondering is that a separate dedicated crosscut sled for dadoes? I’m in the process of making a cross cut sled using your method (and a shooting board). I was thinking about the dado aspect and wondering if I’d need a separate one. Thx.

Yes it is a separate sled, but it started out as a normal one. Once you use a dado cutter with it, as you know, you then have a wide gap for the kerf. So you can cover it over with 1/8 or 1/4” resurfacing panel material, or designate it as a dado sled. I like resurfacing my sleds to stretch out their purposeful life, but the dado kerf is a wide gap to span so it is nice to relegate one for dadoes if you like…but you don’t need a second one per se. Hope that helps, thanks for watching! 👍
