You Make it look so easy when in fact its hard. I Did the same and when your Drilling the old Rivets out is actually hard to do because the old Rivets from the car is actually hard to drill out because the Rivets are actually Round and its hard to hold the Drill straight without sliding off the top of the Rivets. Taking the Pant off the car is easy even "Old Floor Stripper" will take the old paint off the car but you should always put Primer on your Model before painting it so the paint actually sticks good. The Deckles for The General Lee for a Dinky is actually hard to find. ! But this is a good Hobby to do if you have time on your hands.

Not a bad attempt assuming it's your first time.

I did this about a year ago and it was the 2nd car I attempted to customize... I have learned quite a bit since making this one, but I'm still learning.

@@Nero62CustomDiecast I was a model maker in my teens, and did a matchbox car last year for a friend, made it into a copy of his dad's car. I found the painting tricky and I had to start over, I found warming the car before painting worked best, and got a deep glassy finish on it that needed very little polishing, I used Tamiya water based acrylic paint, took a couple of days to harden though but was very shiny with minimal effort. No clear coat needed.

Yeah it needs some new wheels. I have some Monoblock wheels that will look good on it. I got the decals off of Ebay, I dont recall the seller though.

Love the wetsanding, why not wetsand the clearcoat when dry then compound and wax. That's what body shops do.

When I made this I think it was the 2nd custom I had ever done.. quite honestly my skills were very, very basic at that point and I thought I would mess it up... I think my skills have improved quite a bit since I made this one... I do that now on some of the cars I make now, especially the ones where I get some orange peel.

Should have painted the interior beige/light brown.

Was all out of beige paint, so I just went with black.
