When you carve out those large areas and then place card pieces back in them...im not understanding why. Wouldn't it save time by just placing a thinner card on the original surface and scribe around it?

It might be faster to achieve but it's part of the design that I have in mind. In my thought process carving a wide area was easier than scribing a few notches around the plaplate design.

@@GunplaNewbie I'm new to scribing and I'm just trying to find reasons for certain techniques and I find it more difficult to carve large ares like that. I can't control the depth very well. I also dont have tons of fancy tools. Where did you get the bit/tool to round off edges of panels/cut pieces?

I think it's important to identify what you wanna do to achieve the design you have in mind. There are various ways to achieve the same effect so it depends on what you wanna try. In this episode, I wanted to try out lowering surfaces and plaplating. So you can see I explored that quite a bit in my design :D As for fixing mistakes, it's pretty much part of the process. I would say fixing mistake should be a priority for people looking to try out customization. Once you got that down then you're less afraid to try new things. After all, you can just fix it later :D
