Custom Jeep Chassis Built In 2 Days!

In this installment of Bachmann’s Garage, my instructor and I build a CJ-5 frame from scratch in two days. Under threat of losing the shop, the pressure was on!
This video is not a “how-to” and I wouldn’t cut your own frame asunder from the inspiration in this video, but I do hope you glean some entertainment from it.

One of the most common upgrades we did to Jeeps - or any similar chassis - was to swap the front spring hangers, so the solid pivot was in the front and the shackle was in the rear.

Awesome vid Sam. The buyer of that Jeep is gonna be happy w/the upgrade.😎 Only thing I'd add is a few small diameter 'drain' holes in the bottom of the frame and spray in some 'cavity wax' to hold off the ol' rustolation for a good bit longer.

For sure! We are going to drill the holes for the motor mounts, cap off the ends of the rails, make some drain holes at lower points in the frame, and use 3M Cavity Wax. Oh, and then some black paint!

My 98 and my 86 jeep both frames are shot,,, I would kill to have a jeep frame thrat nice ,,,,,
