Good job. Reminds me of teaching 14 year olds to make zillions of cake tins, funnels and tool boxes. I must have made over a kilometre of wired edges during that time!

Excellent work Bart! Think I would have worn out before I got through making all that wire edge.

Thank you! and yes the wire edge was a challenge. Did it in two days with enough time in between.

If you want a better match on the welded areas cut strips of the sheet metal and use them as filler rod . Gas welding or tig
@bartharkemametalworks22994 жыл бұрын
Yes that could also be a good option to try. The fenders will be painted so colour difference is no problem. Strenght is the main focus and I did destructive testing (a lot of hammering on test pieces) with different filler rods and only the base material. This combination worked out best and gave the strongest weld.

Dank je. Opstapje is trouwens wel de bedoeling. Ze worden in het midden nog ondersteund met houten plaat en twee stevige beugels aan frame. Daarna komen er nog strips op voor meer grip en tegen beschadiging.

Great craftsmanship. Not sure that the design suits the car.
@bartharkemametalworks22994 жыл бұрын
Thanks 👍. Design was made by customer. For me it was like coffee. Not sure for the first try but now I like it a lot 😉. And these are the style that 'original' were made for these types of cars.

OMG, Horrible ruins the look of the car,
@bartharkemametalworks22994 жыл бұрын
Everybody has different opinion about design and I have no problem with that. These type of 'Gutter Wing' fenders were used a lot on this type of classic cars. I leaned to appreciate them more after I did more research. Furter, they were 100% made by customer design.
