Custom Peterbilt Needlenose Tour & Interview

Coming up with fresh ideas and customizations on semi trucks has been around for many decades; but when a truly new perspective that ITSELF takes a decade to create; it’s something special.
In this episode Dustin Drefke shows us around Darcy Johnson’s 1962 Peterbilt 351 Needle Nose. It’s been stretched and dropped onto a more modern chassis. A Caterpillar C16 and 18spd provide the grunt and the sleeper has been completely re-designed as an RV style wraparound perfect for truck show hangs.
Both the truck’s interior and exterior exemplify class being fully customized.
I was thankful to be allowed to film the truck’s first show and interview. If you’re like me, we can definitely appreciate the skill and dedication it takes to make a machine this gorgeous.

The model 351 - 3 axle tractor and the 281 - tandem / 2 axle tractor came out in 1954 and were in production till 1976 . All built at the factory in Newark , California and most all were day cabs at that time but could be special ordered with a sleeper bunk . Most popular were the "MERCURY" bunks a lot of owners put their own bunks on and some even custom built them .
