It's not a prop valve issue, as those don't adjust the pressure to a vehicle's front wheels - just the rears. And a 997 turbo does not have a prop valve; it has distribution built into the master cylinder (featuring two output lines feeding the abs block). It'd be odd to have your issue stem from the master cylinder, as if the piston is releasing for the rears it's also releasing for the fronts - so it'd have to be some super weird failure mode. I would bet it's in the abs block activating when it's not supposed to, have you tried pulling the ABS fuse and driving around to see if it's still an issue? I would start there.
@matt13ross6 ай бұрын
I'll try the fuse. Thanks!

I would bet the abs hydraulic module is causing the brakes to stick, check the lines coming out of the unit itself for fluid flow. master cylinder is also possible, swap the components of your yellow turbo to isolate the problem.

@TomHamilton-rg7cp6 ай бұрын
Seems like you have a residual pressure issue in the front brake system. I don't remember what all components that you changed but places to look and consider are the master cylinder, flex lines (don't reuse the old ones) and ensure that the pistons in the clalper are able to slide in and out easily. Clean up the bores and the pistons so that they don't have any corrosion in them and use some lube as you reassemble. If you change out the front flex lines for some new ones, do the rear too.
@matt13ross6 ай бұрын
All lines replaced and calipers rebuilt.
@TomHamilton-rg7cp6 ай бұрын
@@matt13ross then you are onto the master cylinder. Maybe something strange is going on inside that's keeping residual pressure on after you release the pedal. Perhaps the seal has gone bad in the cylinder bore for the front section and the seal for the rear is ok. Otherwise, you would have the rears doing the same lock up. Stranger things have happened. If my memory is right on the caliper rebuild that you did, the pistons and bores were in nice shape...only needed new seals and boots.

Don't know if these cars have proportioning valves in the braking systems, but if they do, I'd check that. Also, might be something to do with the ABS system so I'd check there as well. Since it's impacting both front brakes that's where this is coming from. If it were just one, then I'd say you have a bad caliper and recommend replacing it.

So here’s the thing about DJI years ago they used to be terrible for charging a lot of money for repairing their equipment but these days things have got a lot better as in that most people used to go out and buy the warranty from DJI now it’s gone the other way where it is now cheaper to send your equipment to go and get it fixed then to actually have the warranty so don’t be worried about sending it back for them to repair and the reason I say this is because most of the time they don’t bother repairing it they just send you either a reconditioned unit or a new one and just pay for the repair, so don’t be worried about doing that but being that you’re really hands-on and you love repairing things yourself. It is fairly easy to buy these parts off of eBay and your generally find that Ebay is littered with them. But one thing that I will say being that I repair Dji drones and gimbal that I buy for myself and sell on, or at least I did before Covid hit , if you buy the outer casing parts for this gimbal make sure to buy the ribbon cable and the power cable as well because if you’re not careful when taking this apart the likelihood of you breaking one of these cables is fairly high so for that reasoning, it’s probably easier just to send it back especially if there’s other marks on your camera unit , as to buy the parts separate will cost far more than if DJI was to supply the parts to do the repair , but as always keep up the good work and I hope this information helps

My 991 requires special LV (low viscosity) fluid. Not sure not using that would cause this issue but worth using just in case.
@pauldavis74296 ай бұрын
Most likely the booster is causing it. Next time you drive it take a spanner to unbolt the master from the booster and see if it releases the pressure to the front brakes. If it dies it's the booster holding them on
@craigsmith13546 ай бұрын
The pistons in the calipers expanded due heat they may need thermal protection the piston seals. I'm not sure your piston bores are scored in one caliper yes but both not so sure . Proportioning valve not sue that would be an issue up front but you did have the car exploded so maybe? . These are things that come to mind .... recheck ..

Are the disks definitely in the centre of the callipers? Only thing I could think of is one side is too close, pads are binding and the heat is causing the fluid to boil and lock on. You could also try pulling the ABS/PSM fuse to rule out a pump or PSM issue. Most likely master cylinder / booster diaphragm / misalignment of master cylinder pin if that all checks out.
@matt13ross6 ай бұрын
Yup everything seems good. Just after driving a bit they stick
