I know it's an old video but you made this thing look stunning. I'm thinking about doing a similar project

Thanks and thanks for watching. I had specific inspiration which I mentioned in the video(s) I believe. So, I knew exactly what I wanted in terms of the look. It wasn't all that hard to do. And, the overall cost wasn't that much either.. I'm thinking total was around $300.. pretty sure we'll under $400.

Pronounced with a T sound. Beautiful mod!

I feel so stupid.. It only occurred way later after I made this that I should have realized it is same way you'd pronounce Pterosaur. But, thanks, though! It was a fun relatively inexpensive mod and build and doing the forced aging process on the metal was quite the experience.. as well as trying to excercised some artistic liberty to faux age the dial and handset. Overall, it turned out pretty much as I had envisioned.

Congrats! It's such a great mod and I really enjoyed watching the process. I'm surprised you sold it though.

Thanks. I find I never keep my modded Seiko's for long after they are completed. I think I enjoy coming up with a concept and creation process and seeing my creation come to life and reality. Share it and seeing how others like it, or not. I enjoy it for a time, then feel like selling and moving onto something else.

I'd be great if you could add a link to the first in this series. Searching through the wealth of knowledge in your videos is fun, but unnecessarily tedious. Have a happy holiday

Yeah. In the mean time, the quickest way is to copy and paste Pteroleon Flieger Mod. I'm sure there will be very few videos with this title and word (Pteroleon), and all the results should pop up.

@@khronokraze You bet. I also used the search for your videos. I'm thinking to do something similar but with a case hardened look instead of gun metal

Beautiful outcome. Where do they sell the flieger dial?
@khronokraze3 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Minus the custom weathering and patina I did. I believe.I bought this particular dial from yobokies.

Please let me know when you sell this watch...you did one hell of a job.

Thanks. And, Thanks for watching. Will see when that happens with this one. Still having fun with it. I'm actually not satisfied with the stock 7S36 movement I repaired. It works after I fixed it, but always wary if there might be something more to it internally. Since I made the watch and wearing and testing it out, I've also been trying to regulate it. Zero beat error and I can set to a good rate. BUT, amplitude is low and both that and the rate get sudden dips or spikes. And, getting a feel for it on the wrist, it doesn't seem to be holding consistent accuracy as my other watches. SO, I have very recently swapped out the movement for an extra 7S26 movement I have laying around. I did regulate and correct beat error and tested it on timegrapher to be sure it was holding much more steady and with better amplitude. So far so good. Will see after wearing it for at least a week, preferably up to 2 weeks straight if I'm getting a good performance out of it. In general, with nearly all my automatics, I try to get them to within +/- 1 to 2 secs per day.. no more than 4.

@@khronokraze are you going to stay true to the stock movement?? Or nh36a?
@khronokraze5 жыл бұрын
@@Gyllbonus like i said, i am reusing a spare 7s26 movement. Essentially the same as the stock 7s36 movement which the 7s36 has 2 extra jewels and i think 1 extra piece which nobody seems to know what it does. Otherwise, it shipped function exactly the same as 7s26. I have considered upgrading to a nh36, but, i simply don't want to spend more $$ on this project than i need to. If the 7s26 still performs unsatisfactory, then i may have to consider an upgraded movement if and when then.

Where did you get that dial???

The dial I believe I got from DLW. I custom modified it with patina effect myself
