Welcome Back to Mehl's Mountain Garage! This time around, I am upgrading the engine side fuel lines on my 1932 Ford 5 Window Coupe.
The engine has a plain old steel fuel line from the fuel pump, to a brass fitting, then a chrome carburetor feed line with some rubber hoses, not exactly pretty, but functional. This was installed 25+ years ago when my Father started building this car, so it has held up.
My goal is to make it look nice, so, I picked up some needed parts from Summitracing.com. Yes, I bought them. I bought some 3/8" stainless steel tubing, a few 6an tube nuts and sleeves, and 6an carb adapter fittings. I already had the 6an tee and fuel pressure gauge.
I posses the needed tools to get this job done also. AN fitting are 37 degree, not 45, so most commonly owned flaring tools wont cut it. Also, stainless is hard as shit to flare, so a quality tool is mandatory. I have a RIGID 377 37 degree flaring tool to accomplish this task. Though Eastwood makes a tool that will work also. The tubing bender is an Imperial Eastman 3/8", these are older tools I have purchased from yard sales and eBay. You can find them and maybe a newer quality tool on the interballs.

The Imperial Eastman tubing benders I got from eBay long ago, and are old tools.
Follow along as I yank out the ugly, and make some pretty!
