Beautiful, modern and sleek, a real gorgeous floating look. And it's made of 2 by 4's... bravo!

Looks great, woodworking 101 says do not cross grain pieces of wood, would expand with wise not lengthwise those insert pieces you put cross screen on the stair treads is what’s going to cause the cracking. As the stair tread expanse, and contracts with wise the lengthwise pieces are going to keep it from expanding and contracting and cause cracking. It looks great.

Massive project. Awesome result!! Good on ya. Maybe could spray paint the white wires so they don’t stick out as much??

This is a really lovely piece of work!👌🏻 LED installation lets it down though, wish you had given that the same attention to detail that the (outstanding) woodworking received…🤔

I like the LED. Would be interesting to see them mounted to the back of the stairs out of site or in a channel tucked in.

Should have bought proper under cabinet style LED with track and diffusers and routered them into the bottom of the steps. The wires also look terrible. Should have had a channel routered for them as well.

beautiful work ! but yeah i have to agree with the others. the led strips should have been recessed cause we all know that they are going to fall off at some point. and it's prettier when you can't see the lights

Nice work. I feel you could’ve rebated some led Chanel’s for the lights and even run the cables down and channel in the beam. Otherwise overall this is an awesome job.

Very nice. I like the fact you used framing lumber and made it look that good. In vid #1 you mentioned about the end grain of the 2x4's showing on the bottom treads. Did you ever think to use a laminate to cover them? Either way, they look great! The lighting is a very nice touch.

Very cool looking and nice craftsmanship. I am concerned though that you have two winders on one flight and no handrails. Here in Canada that’s a very obvious code violation. Does your jurisdiction allow for that?

They would have looked better is they were recessed. All it would take is a single channel routed in. Could possibly be done in place too

They are beautiful, and affordable due to the materials, which are supported effectively by the genius design. I do question the design choice of gluing the treads to the wall cleats so as to hide the mounting screws, and gluing the treads to the support frame. Replacing the glue in these joints with lag screws up through the bottom of the wall cleats into the treads, and a similar two-way-screwed cleat in the tread-to-frame joint, would feel as secure, plus would give a way to disassemble without a full-on demolition. Repairs or adjustments are often inevitable in such a system, due to house settling, some hidden weakness in the materials of the structure that may be exposed with wear, other situations that need repair, etc. Having inaccessible or missing mounting screws makes wrecking the tread by sawing through it the only way to effect repairs/adjustments.

Why didn’t you chase all the wires through the wall, and put all the electronics in the interior of the wall since its low voltage

I think led would have looked nicer on wall side of the upright. Seeing the led is visually displeasing (to me) & disrupts the, imo, otherwise minimalist look & feel of the staircase. Hiding the led accentuates, the minimalist look, in my opinion. Tht

The 3rd step just ruins the amazing design.. think adding a veneer to it would make it all seamless.. the end grain just takes away. I thought it was going to be every other end grain so it wouldn't of been so out of place
