Agreed Especially anything Ford he knows his shit!!! I trailed my 06 6.0 to him to do the upgrades after I had the bulletproofing doing amd add a little bit of power to the truck. Drove it back down to Florida after it was finished been perfect sense and is bomb proof I feel for the way I have my truck setup, It would handle alot more power then it has now, and it's pushing pretty good

I have to say your videos are great! I just bought my first 6.0 and the truck runs awesome,so finding your site was great because now I have a source to help keep it running that way.I always had 7.3 trucks up until I couldn't find any that were not rotted out(I live in New England).I'm lucky that I have the tools and knowledge to do the work myself so not only do I save money,but I know the work is actually being done.A lot of shops up here wont even touch these trucks and there are tons of them up here,and I don't think they are that hard to work on especially with a source like this!

Hey Bill how about a link to their website, and a little more info in the description block. I have a growl in the drive train at about 57mph plus that I can't find. Put new tires on it, new rear axle bearings (not Differential) however no slop shows when on the jack stands and you turn the wheels. New TRW U-Joints and Center Bearing. New Tie rod ends and drag links. Checked ball joints, hub bearings and the suspension bushings their fine, sway bar bushings are worn but not cracked or bulging, I do hear a clunk when you hit the sway bar. Had front end aligned. Changed Tranny fluid, filter and magnet had the usual fuzz not metal bits. Changed and checked the Transfer case oil, not metal chunks or bits. Tranny shifts fine, other than the usual 4R100 shift grumble that it's had since 6 years ago when it was quiet going down the road. I do hear a clunk when I break moderate to hard at a stop light then pull out. It doesn't happen all the time, but I can repeat it easily. The noise is not engine related as I can put the truck in neutral and idle the engine and the growl is still there. It's a 2001 7.3L 4x4 crew cab short box with 207,000 miles on it. I'll take any advice. Love your vids brother and watch regularly. Best Wishes n Blessings Keith

@MrTiger00026 жыл бұрын
YES. Upgrade your trans cooler too. More fluid means more protection. Cooler fluid means less fluid deterioration. Taking excess heat away from transmission prolongs transmission lifespan.

I know what you mean, I too have a 96 f350. I absolutely love it. people call them dinosaurs, which may be true in a sense, as we don't have the BIG stock numbers as today's diesels. But lets hook up a 32 foot gooseneck, me with my 260k mile dingo vs your all bells and whistles 20k mile cowboy caddy, and see which quits first. Btw, I like dinosaurs.

Hey Bill - my 2012 f350 lariat dually 6.7 hits really hard coming out of fifth into 4th...and now it’s doing it into 6th a bit, and back out.. Any ideas on where to start looking. I’ve had it into service at ford, and they didn’t fix it completely... said they removed some metal fragments for a few solenoids... When I got it back it wasn’t perfect and now its back hitting hard. I’d appreciate some ideas

I had the same issue, Timmy. Ended up ordering the Legendary 4R100 from Dieselsite. It's going in next weekend. From everything I've heard it's a great tranny at a fair price. Trans w/TQ Conv. was $3,400 + $600 shipping (included was core ship back cost). I'm in California and considered John Woods. His price is $5,000 picked up at his shop in San Diego. However, I've heard rumors he's soon to retire. Between the extra 1k, and the possibility of no future support, I decided to go Dieselsite.

These guys are master mechanics and great at their job. But as far as Fords go, they appear to be great trucks as long as you spend extra money to bullet proof the engine and the transmission??? No thanks.
@usMarinecuv9028 жыл бұрын
This is mostly due to people putting tunes on them. Most any vehicle kept stock and taken care of will last a long time.

I love it. He is the only person I will have do transmission work for me. Even being across the country. I actually got to see his shop the beginning of the year. His place is spotless and he is very meticulous. He has been testing all the upgrades of the 4r100 on his personal trucks. And he is not easy on them.
Another solution to this is full transmission delete

So, buy a Powerstroke diesel, take it to Bill. He will bulletproof it for about 7500 bananas. Then take your running and driving Powerstroke to A-1 Transmissions, and he will bulletproof it for 7000 more bananas. So, in order to make your Ford Powerstroke a reliable daily driver, you have to spend 15 large so it will keep going down the raod. Am I missing something here? Is all the hoorah about the PS a joke? 15 grand to fix the factory defects. Maybe I should get rid of my PS and buy a Dodge with a Cummins. Geez. These videos make me want to cry.
@MrNotorius55008 жыл бұрын
The 7.3 Powerstroke motors, in my opinion, are the best powerstrokes out there. The 6.7 is a close second if it wasn't for the ceramic bearings in the turbos failing.

you cry because you are a weak, lazy metrosexual, not a man. For $15k you are taking a used, stock truck and turning into a high performance daily driver that doesn't break down. Put your sandals on, and get into your vw with the factory flower arrangement in the cup holder and have a good cry. Close the doors and windows first...men don't want to hear it.

Ford has always been known to produce weak transmissions. Even the new Ford trucks have problems with servos and pumps failing. A buddy of mine rebuilds transmissions for a living. Ford had the C3 transmission back in the day, it was a 40K mile transmission. Then the C4 came out, it may last 100K miles if you were lucky. Then the C5 and C6. With transmissions and modules failing and costing customers thousands of dollars, Ford has ruined relationships with customers over the years.
